Well I'm throwing the towel in... Almost 900 ft ASL and snizzle, yet city centre Manchester and Salford ( of which I can quite clearly see from my bedroom window) get moderate snow..:rofl::rofl:

I swear I live in the biggest snow desert in England.

South Manchester I can have snow to the North, East, West and South and still get rain just like tonight.

How can you get snow in Fleetwood and rain inland?

What a super duperhole.

Snowing again but I'm not in the heavy zone yet, still fairly light

For once the Pennines seem to have split the band of snow with the main band plastering West Yorkshire and the smaller area heading down towards Manchester.

although we have snow at the moment it's been either completely dry or very light for the last two hours and we've still only about 4 cm.

this has certainly proved a bad call by the Met Office as we were towards the eastern edge of the warning area when if the end we turned out to be on the western side.

Moderate but the heavy stuff is to my east, the radar rerun is very disappointing, the heavier stuff to my NW seems to fragment EVERY time its about to hit manc/oldham.

Seen it happen so many times think its why i stopped looking at the radar!!!

Still, covering on all surfaces again, temps should begin to drop as the skies clear, should be great for a walk tomorrow :)

Snowing here but really not heavy enough to give any significant increase in snow cover. Only just starting to cover places that thawed.

really is game over here now, as if there was ever a chance, it's gone foggy with the temperature above 0C, which means the dewpoint is way too high, the air is saturated, and the warm uppers have moved over relatively cold air on the surface.

You have no lying snow?! Bad luck mate!! Been snowing since 6pm here mainly light to moderate with the odd heavier burst.

Still snowing here, black dot my location...

Another area of precipitation coming toward Merseyside, Wirral, Cheshire. I still fear it'll be rain judging by radar precipitation type. That boundary hasn't shifted all day!

There must be a reason these showers that come from the NW seem to fragment on entry to the manchester area, i have defo seen it before and tonight is just another example.

Either that or bad luck..

St Helens is the boundary though so you are just lucky. Rain today so far south of it.

It's rain. Wirral and Cheshire West it's game over.

Big Flakes again here. It is sad that Yorkshire stole our snow though. :(

The ppn is increasing as it hits land although Morecambe Bay is clear - all seems to pep up on landfall.
