I think the snow here is stuck because it is heading southeast towards the hills. It be great if thats a case! :D

It's laying quite a bit now and at the same time it's a bit breezier too.

Looks like Billinge hill will be a place to be for picture postcards in the morning. Must be a decent covering there now.

Makes you wonder though, why some hills and not others.

Was going to say that myself.

the radar shows it intensifying as it crosses the Bowland Fells.

it then dissipates as it crosses the West Lancashire Moors and Rossendale Fells.

never mind, there's sold all I can do about it so I'll have a bottle of red instead.

Oo look: heavy drizzle!  Pathetic.

Oh well it's better than light drizzle

Even them newly formed pretty potent looking showers coming into west cumbria have just about missed me, only very light snow falling now so right on the edge.

I don't think anywhere is getting buried, even the M62 summit cams show moving traffic and little problems.  Still some will at least have a wintry scene tomorrow if the hard frost kicks into gear later on and there is not slushy melt.

Them masts on Winter hill - one of their uses must be a snow deflector when snow moves SE wards.

Fantastic day in Penrith, 6 cms of dry powdery snow falling over 5 hours, OK it wasn't a blizzard but the Christmas card scene is just lovely and even the wife is impressed.

Game over for me, ended up with the least snow in Cumbria, not surprised at all.

drizzly rain.. hurrah! Feel fairly mild outside too, not the cold edge that we've had for most of the day.
