A fantastic spell of weather for late January-early February as far as I'm concerned. It's much better than that horrid cold and snowy spell about two weeks ago could have ever hoped to have been. :)

Each to their own I suppose but after driving down flooded roads one morning last week and being soaked to the skin while out in horizontal rain yesterday, the highlight of the last week for me was Saturday evenings thunderstorm and heavy snow shower.

and that's from someone who can take or leave snow these days.

I would have preferred a spell of dry and sunny weather but once again it was off the menu up here.

Wind is almost none existent here too. Surprising as the biggest gusts should be about 9-10pm here.

I'm sure I could be a fan of mild weather in winter but wet and mild doesn't do it for me.

give me cold and dry any day..........in fact please just give me some dry.

I am heading for cumbria on the 10th feb for a few days mountain climbing,staying at lingmell house,wasdale and i will be doing scafell,great gable and a few others,hope to see some decent snowfall up there:)

Winds haven't been all that bad here today. Typical Winter stuff that we get every year - 40-50mph gusts. Of course for western Scotland it's been pretty intense with 90mph gusts!
