Looking at the map I must have been pretty well underneath the lightening.

it explains what the sudden flash was a while ago.

Temp & dew are both slowly dropping  @ 3C and 0C respectively. Makes me wonder if there could be anything even more wintry later. I do think high ground could at least get a covering of snow first thing in morning. Could be one of those situations where only 30-50 metres difference in height makes all the difference.

The BBC graphics at 8pm didn't look too bad even for low ground, we could maybe see some snow falling but nothing laying except above 200M and its due about 3am in the morning, will probably set my alarm.
