Just looking at the 06z The slider low (POSSIBLE EVENTS) Friday and Sunday

The snow line is from N-Wales down To the South coast Brighton area,so very close but as yet

no cigar, need a northward push in the next few runs.

Well I said earlier  we needed a shift

north and the 12z does exactly that

bringing the south of the region into

the fireing line another shift north will

effect more of the region hopefully

We could do really well here if it shifts north by about 100miles which will mean the cold is mixed in with the moisture.

The high Res will be to watch from Thursday onwards, but deff chance there

Conditions here in the peaks have been abysmal all day, consistent torrential rain since 2pm leading to run-off from the fields overflowing onto main roads. Around Dove Holes the fields resemble a reservoir at times and in Whaley Bridge along the A6 there's a local conduit river completely overflowing at knee-depth height onto the road.

Still more rain yet to come too, Imogen may not have brought the gales but she's sure brought the rain here.

Very wet day on and off with some torrential showers at times and feeling cool with a max of 6.4c, a bit breezy.

Yet another pulse of heavier rain here, agreed a truly vile day with cold rain more or less non-stop from the word go.

Anyone noticed that snowy slider lows rarely effect north of the midlands? annoys me it does

Well there's one thing about it, in terms of the NW we're in possibly the best location. I'm just praying it takes a more N'ly track. If so we'd be looking at 10cm or so from that.

Going back to Tenerife in May. Can't wait. :yahoo:

It is a very miserable day here. They should put out warnings here really. It is been downpour after downpour non-stop here.

As it stands it's looking likely to effect those in the south of the region with many north of Merseyside missing out.

Very windy with some episodes of torrential rain.  Just glad I had no reason to go out.  Noticed the pressure last night before I went to bed: 959mb.

Doesnt need saying what will happen. We either get a snow at elevation with copious rain or at best half melted slush lower down event, Or a repeat of what happened in January when we got soaked while further east got snow.

Dont get your hopes up - that way you wont be disappointed.

And so the monsoon continues.

following a wet night, heavy prolonged showers through the morning and well into the afternoon.

a short period with less in the way of showers before the default setting returned as darkness came.

rivers in full spate again and still no sign of an end to it.

at least it's mild though........oh not its not, it's just not cold enough for some of this record breaking precipitation to fall as snow.

thoroughly depressing to put it mildly .......pardon the pun.

wow were did that come from.. it's snowing!

Wet snow and not sticking of course, but still nice to see falling.

Edit: Stopped now, just wet the ground stuff.  Checking radar a little cluster of showers coming off the Irish sea, probably giving a sprinkling of wintry stuff over the highest parts.

Yes a lovely surprise! Wasn't expecting anything today given the uppers.

Yes, I'd like to think it's a good omen for the colder spell to come, but I have a feeling the initial precipitation will be too far south for us with the slider lows, but you might do reasonably well when the winds switch North Easterly as your further up that way.  The Pennines-barrier gobbles up any showers for us further down the hill.
