4 minutes ago, I Cumbria Marra I said:

The BBC graphics at 8pm didn't look too bad even for low ground, we could maybe see some snow falling but nothing laying except above 200M and its due about 3am in the morning, will probably set my alarm.

I think I'll give that one a miss.

the damn thing goes off at 5.15 anyway, snow or no snow.

Just been outside and I can hear them loading the gritters in the depot across the road, they load with diggers and shake the buckets to empty them.  Currently clear and cold.

Let me know when they've fitted ploughs to them, although it's that long since they were used they've probably seized up.

Doing something again outside but I don't know whether it's rain or snow and can't be bothered to go and look.

Will send some cardboard snowploughs asap .........

They've got a fleet of shiny new gritters at the Bacup depot so cardboard ones will probably have less chance of scratching the paintwork.

Just letting you know I am going to stay in the Peak District for a short break for 3 nights on 13th February - what do yo think of the chance of getting winteriness based on forecast for that time - being high ground should be better than Liverpool do you think we are still on for a cold snap around that time?

Looking towards Ireland and already the morning's snow is on the way, and plenty of it to come too with the irish sea temps likely to ramp-up any PPN as it moves inland towards the Fylde coast.

I watched the forecast this morning it shows snow heading down from Scotland to over us. I doubt it would snow here it is too very marginal obviously apart from higher ground.

Yes Pip high ground only for tonight

very transient but the hills will get

another brief covering
