very dark. I fact was surprised it wasn't raining. It's still chilly too.

Cold morning = hungry so I'm cooking sausage and bacon in a bap with french fries. Just sent hubs out to get the Bread:D

Gloomy!

It may be gloomy but its a damn sight better than what the Easter weekend is about to produce.

Id take gloomy over Atlantic mild wet dross any day, at least in gloomy weather you can still do things outside and it remains dry.

Hopefully the second half of April may start to deliver those fine Spring conditions. Fingers crossed.

Yes hopefully, as the first part of April is looking decidedly odd.

Not only does it turn unsettled but there is a high probability of gales/severe gales affecting our region a bank holiday special on GFS 06z ;-)

Very little to say about today, thick high cloud throughout.

As for the Easter weekend, well Friday looks nice with temperatures forecast to reach 12-14C, Saturday looks wet, Sunday looks showery rather than full on wet and Monday offers the risk of wind and rain but at this point the models do disagree, some wind that secondary low whilst others runs the low through quickly as a shallow feature.

Lovely morning yesterday, no wind clear sky, frosty start. By the time I'd walked down to the beach needed to take my coat and jumper off. Got a bit chilier an hour or two later though when the cloud and a chilly feeling wind appeared. Today has been dull and cloudy all day.

Morning all sorry been so busy as birthday, new job, easter coming up!

Thank you all so much for the birthday messages! Had a wicked time!

Weather wise it has been okay. Some sun.

Looks a lot more turbulent as we move into the weekend

Welcome back Surrey. Glad you had a good one!

Now that's a good word - turbulent! Yes, love it or loath it, at least we'll have some "weather" happening this weekend. Spells of rain and windy from Saturday, but early Monday looking to be the worst day, with a deep low, heavy rain and strong gusts of wind impacting the South of the UK. Here's what this morning's model runs are suggesting:

GFS Mon 06.00 56f39df1aad5e_GFS850MON28MAR06.00.thumb.56f39e3ebec34_GFSPrecipMON28MAR06.00.thu

Arpege High Res showing max gusts between 100 and 110 km/h (approaching 70 mph) early Monday for the SE corner.

This chart for Mon 01.00 56f39e81a3b5f_ARPEGEMAXGUSTSMON28MAR02.0

Arpege cumulative rainfall between now and Mon morning shows that southern counties of our Region see the most rain.

Not as bad today as I though it would be, started cloudy, but the cloud has thinned out enough to let the sun shine through. No rain as yet, wasn't supposed to get here till later though.

Grotty day with spots of rain currently, feels chilly too. Weekend looks mixed at best, though latest GFS takes Monday's storm further south with the gales hitting N France, us just getting wet!

was lucky today. put kitchen like things in the garden like the bin and clothes dryer  so could mop the floor, mop floor replace items and the heavens opened. School shut early today as we are now on Hols! but as usual they waited for the rain to start again before opening the gate.

:hi:Got the lawn cut as it was a fair day, we even had a little sun for a while, now the first rain has arrived for at least two weeks or more. Smells like Spring rain. Good health and Happy Easter All. :hi:

Yes, the GFS 06z indeed had the low a tad further south. However the 12z has reverted back to a track that brings the worst of the winds to our Region, swinging the Low Pressure up from a centre over South Wales to exit the UK around the Yorkshire moors. The Arpege 12z High Res model is in agreement and has upgraded (hardly the right description) the max gusts to cover a wider swathe of the Region and has increased the max to 120 km/h (75 mph).

I seriously hope it doesn't happen this way, wow, I've heard of beware of march winds but I'm not sure this is all that common at this time of year.
