And what a change to yesterday it is mainly cloudy, sunny and the temperature is a bearable 15.3c On the topic of the rain my local paper has gone to the top again and wow do they get it wrong in a big way. Why they don't ask before they put something in print I don;t knoe they have my e-mail address.

Here is a snippet. Torrential downpoars have seen Burton and South Debyshire record a month's rainfall in 24 hours weather experts say. They must have seen the Midlands news???? Some areas had seen up to an inch in an hour almost unprecidented amounts for this time of year. I have been looking through my past records and have some that can beat that Think people only remember the sunny days. 1985 114.1mm 1986 118.3mm 1992 134.6mm and 1999 116.6mm August is renowned for being a wet month can't anyone remember being on their Holiday's stuck in a caravan with the rain teaming down on the roof trying to amuse the kids. Well here the days figures after getting that one off my chest. Temperature: 15.3°C Wind Chill: 15.3°C

Well, if you're fed up with all the rain and thunder, take a trip to this area of north-east England.

Dull with sea fog during the morning. A couple of hours of sunshine around lunchtime, then the fog rolled back in from the sea. Coupled with that, there is a large overhang of high cloud on the east coast here.

Lots of convection, all of it well away to the west.

"But at least it's dry!"
