Ok, no problem... things sometimes come across different to how they are meant when typed. :good:

The first lightning strike of the day for the Midlands just near to Rugby. Hopefully setting up to meet me in Lincolnshire.

that might have been what I heard about 3.37pm though it was a truck going by could have been a distant rumble wasn't directly overhead that I do know well assume anyway

To start with I am heading towards Grantham. It is a good place to get routes N, W, E and S. I will make another decision when I get there. Just waiting for a friend who I am taking with me for their first storm chase and I will be off.

Weird day of weather so far, one rumble of thunder earlier, but for about 10 mins there was rain next door but none here, and on one side of the house it was blowing a full on gale but calm the other. Goes to show how localised convective weather can be!

Just wanted to put a link in here as the chase team in the USA got on an amazing supercell yesterday - some really good photos here:

I don't know what to do ... Beefy cells finally materialising over Winchester way so do I move a bit east to try and get them at a more mature point? I did a lot of driving yesterday so was hope for a sedate and local day of homegrown storms.

oooh I don't like options!

I think they're going SE but that's just by basic radar watching

think I'm about to see my one and only shpwer of the day and it doesn't look too heavy at that

those further south and off to the East could have some lively downpours next couple of hours judging by the radar

Dark skies incoming from my West. Some rumbles in there heading this way. Not a big storm but still something!

Pulse storms generally. IMHO not worth the effort of the chase :-(

Agreed, with lots of cloud around too will make Cbs difficult to spot.

Electrical cell over NW, but even that has only sparked 5-6 times.
