I'm not sure what has happened to the radar, but we have a deadly MCS over the SE..  big_boss.gif

Am whizzing down towards the coast now (as passenger) but may have left it far too late - just approaching M20 at swanley so will take at least an hour :cray:. I notice a degree of back building going on so may not be all lost.

Just gawping at Blitzortung - much more of a northerly component to the motion so may end up driving through them. Clearly the western edge of the plume is breaking down. Fingers crossed they hold some potency or this will be a wasted journey

As radar has suggested storms likely to hit the far SE, brilliant to see a moderate! Certainly seems to be back building the channel get some photos lads!

My mate is at the end of that pier right now, watching Madness. He loves storms but could do without one now.

UPDATE: He's just text to say he can hear thunder.

going dark to my south , sure i heard very distant thunder, but now think it was a wheely bin,  damn

Nothing within 100 miles of us I'm afraid, and that's from listening on the radio which never lies.

Yes, just saw a massive flash of lightning on that webcam! I knew they would get across!

Ah hastings. wonderful place.

On that convective map, i'm in the white area. not the grey or the green or the orange. The white fine drizzle area.

Happiness is not in high supply here.

Just approaching W Maidstone and there's lines of Ac visible, some candidates for AcCas too!

T&L in Ireland and over the Channel but nothing within the torrential rain falling over northern England right now. Why not?

Thunder heard in Eastbourne - ominous looking skies and sounding good!

Sadly, unless Blitzortung is playing up strike rate markedly dropping. Booooo!!! Still if you're still hearing thunder in Eastbourne that's positive!
