Couple of big dark angry clouds passing through here, just let out a rumble.

Yes, an interesting day again weather wise and once again called completely wrong by me

The morning's milky cloud dispersed and we've had a curious combination of strong sunshine but a noticeable and refreshing W'ly breeze. Even so, we've reached 29c here in East Ham so down on yesterday but still very decent. Humidity currently 52% and a forecast low of 17c so well down on last night which will help.

Still a hint of a very warm spell with temperatures 25-27c from Friday through to next week before a drop back to average or just below.

Just checked the MetO radar, quite amazing really! At 1630 there's nothing in view, and by 1700 there are a line of explosive storms draped across the region. Some menacing clouds and spots of rain starting to fall here in Cambridge.....45 minutes ago it was glorious. How things can change!

Checking the 1715 radar echoes, it appears the storm cell split, and there's a nice gap in the middle where I am! Looks as if it is all swiftly headed NE now, so we will be back to sunshine soon enough.

As I leave Liverpool Street looking North can see what must be the storms near Cambridge. Magnificent view.

4c warmer than yesterday, peaking at just under 29c, our warmest day so far this year.

Yesterday was 25c and a cracking day low humidity and sea breeze.
Today total yuk this after noon, god forsaken SW winds in summer, is it not enough that we have to put up with them most of  the winter.

What happened to the good old mid/ northern european highs of my youth and younger years to give us proper sea breezes and low humidity.

Blue sky here now. Those storms formed over hear then headed off to Cambridgeshire.

Rear end of the cell as it heads North East. Nothing but blue sky above and behind.

Not sure I'd want to out and about in Norwich as it looks like everything is going to converge there very soon.

More like a divergence - complete miss (you really couldn't make it up, I watched it happen) :nonono:

Good to see some storms in the region (is you're a storm lover)

Video on my Facebook which I will try grab of my friend of pea sized hail coming down!

Over here in sunny Surrey it's a gorgeous evening with a gentle breeze cooling things down before we go back up to 26-27c tomorrow much more bearable for many

Ethier way, what a spell of proper English summer

An absolute stonker of a storm - even better than last Tuesday's effort...Flash, bang, flash bang - and it's still as humid as Hell!

NO storms, no cloud still 24c and house feels like an oven.

Wind in wrong direction to get any air into it to cool it down.

i missed a storm by miles, although I got the joy of watching it develop over me and then build as it does so much in these events here.  Amazing clouds as it moved away.

There was a brief heavy shower in Peterborough as I got stuck in traffic for hours thanks to the residents of Peterborough deciding to have several major accidents at once. Said shower(s) then turned into the behemoth that smashed into south Lincolnshire and north Norfolk. Gutted is all I can say.

Other than that it was a nice hot day again, driving back I did get an excellent view of the storm with mammantus and other signatures of severe thunderstorms.

Pano of the thing about an hour ago - spot the bit which passed over Norfolk.....and the other three illustrate perfectly how something can look good and then dissolve into drizzle 10 miles later. I think perhaps one distant rumble of thunder for each one :nonono:

Amazing storm here about 7pm, one of the best i've seen in this country. Strong winds, marble size hail and proper torrential rain (registered over 150mm/hr on my Davis). The thunder was constant and some of it was directly overhead and shook the house. Temp dropped from 28.5C to 19C in about 15 minutes. Cleared the air a bit for sleeping this evening.
