Depends on the size of you r garden, trust me I wouldnt want to use watering can every day.

Tap water will not work properly, you need rain water.

Baskets/containers need twice a day, vegis same.
That is if you are serious on growing things.

Working outside and it feels horrible, really sticky no wind.

Natural water is the best for plants, here's hoping the heavens open

I do not agree, tap water works fine, my garden has been watered with tap water for the past 4 weeks and it looks better than it does when it rains.

How do you think hot countries with no rainfall keep vegetation lush a green? Water supply from the mains. Think I would rather walk around my garden with a watering can and hose then have to deal with yet more rain in the height of summer.

This is the UK and you can be sure that Rain water will come eventually and by the bucket load come October, it will always balance itself out (Although we are hardly in a emergency drought are we). In my opinion, wishing for rain in July living in the UK is pure insane and a massive pet hate of mine. As if 9 months of the year - cold rain isn't enough...

RE using tap water and gardening is absoultey fine and has no adverse effects (on normal plants)  you wouldn't use tap water on something like a Venus fly trap... We call them "specialist plants"

Rain water can damage vegetation especially those more sensitive to sudden PH changes.. As rain brings down lots of crap, but, many gardeners argue that because it is not "treated" per say, it is better!

It's really what you prefer and what is best where you are and grow.

The soil here is 90% clay so it drys out in summer and goes rock hard, in winter its like a bog!

Back to weather, I see the typical moan and groan continues, I can't remember a time in my life with such a lengthy spell of fine weather.. Long may it continue!

Nice start with warm sunshine and up to 22C by early afternoon, then a wet hour or so around mid-afternoon with 3.5mm of rain to keep Mrs Blessed's flowers happy, and finally a nice end to the day with lots of blue sky and sunshine. Good effort!! :)

I take it you're under that very heavy shower on the radar Dami? I'm quietly impressed by the accuracy of the Arpege 12z forecast for 21.00 tonight. Spot on!!

Bit murky and grey today.

But the weekend looks fine with some decent warm sunny spells. Long may it continue.

It's rather warm today to spite all the cloud and very light showers.

Lookine extremely dark to the NW and radar shows very heavy rain around Brentwood way which must be coming from this cloud. Nothing electrical, but wouldn't be too surprised if there was to be...
