I've watched that band travel south from Scotland all night whilst at work, it better deliver :)

Seems to be pepping up a bit as it passes over Cumbria and the northern Pennines :)

Prepared to get battered folks. Iv been watching this bad boy since I woke up to a surprising covering and snow showers from the Cheshire gap going straight through the mids.

The mods got this one wrong that's for sure. Surely there should be updated warnings out?

Oh where I'm living now by the way is about 100ft asl. So low ground and stil white

I expect it to be rain here. Either way, morning commute looks dicey for some to say the least

Roads were already looking dicey walking up Whaley Lane at just past midnight here, the gritters were out on the A6 all evening but with very few cars about the grit just hasn't mixed properly into the snow. If anything that now underlying grit can only make things worse for later. No idea how the SPINE race is going to deal with this new snowfall as this year's race begins over the weekend and racers should be showing up by today.

As I thought it would, the Irish Sea is rapidly adding moisture into the system, hence it appears to be expanding westwards.

Some big gusts of wind, still covering on the grass and road at the side, gritter went past around 4.45 after the snow shower,so has melted on the main road

I just can't believe it. It is sub zero, or was, with ice crunching under foot from the slush.

Snow at Manchester airport, snow on radar, all snow reports to north and I get rain?

WTF seriously?

It is the squawl line that developed ahead of the main band, must be a sh*tty warm sector

Yep, noticed that. Will be mostly rain to low ground in west of region I reckon. Was torn whether to stay up or not but think I'll go bed.
