Very surreal today as started off lovely and sunny, popped to Tesco for one thing, literally five minutes later went back outside to thick fog descending. Now gone but very strange!

Stunning winter day with maximum sunshine and max of 8.6c . I think it must have been foggy nearby as I could see low cloud a few miles to the NW earlier.

Topped out at 11.9°C today.

I see a fog warning has been issued?!

It's currently clear at the moment, with a nice moon. Everything is very wet, so I'm hoping for a proper good fog to develop!

Left here in sunshine at half eight this morning, drove through varying densities of fog to get to West Bay.  There the fog was wafting around completely blotting out one area and then clearing off and blotting out elsewhere!  At one point we could see Lyme Regis, a minute later visibility was less than 100 yards.  A chilly breeze made for a less than comfortable walk.

Do my eyes deceive me or are people in the model thread quoting 240h charts and mentioning Day 10 about 549,522 times.

That takes us to Dec 21 and I'm sure yesterday was the start of something amazing. Shows how pants the computer models are.

Oh, and Darren Betts loves emphasising mild weather on the telly - he says what he sees apparently.

I have I idea about what's going on in the MOD thread at the moment. I follow the thread but it's so damn confusing I've given up. Sounds like it's going be mild this week.. then cool and possibly frosty over Christmas.. uttering of a SSW and then not a SSW earlier today.. Tamara then comes in and may as well write her post in Swahili as it's most definitely not English.. I'm just going to look out the window from now on, damn sight easier!

Surprised me too! Fog has thinned a little here, due to a light breeze, but it was very thick earlier on.

Ask Karlos1983 to translate it for you. Simples really, it's neither here there or over there, it's going up & down and side to side. Where it will go nobody knows, and I do mean nobody!

Don't ask me :80: I just say what I feel and 99% of the time I'm wrong, but do I care....no. Next year maybe an improvement to 98%

very occasionally people like to tell you of your wrongness, and take much happiness in doing so, I believe it makes there day worthwhile. I like to make people happy, I aim only to please

I don't think I can remember a December that started so seasonally and turned this warm so quickly! Truly yucky weather and feeling very unfestive!

It is now 90% a repeat performance of last December, the 10% difference being much less rain over the UK.

Rain on and off so far today. A far cry from yday eve's local forecast for today. I'll say no more on that.

Winter 16/17 - shaping up to be a typical winter of the christmas pudding. 09/10 and 10/11 look like 'blips' in overall winter pattern of last 20+ years.
