From earlier today:

More from Ian F.

"Just to explain: The wording of the UKMO forecast is a nod towards latest GloSea, which (after the mid-late Dec shenanigans and slight bias towards blocking) then leans marginally in favour of zonality into early part of Jan."

But zonal isn't what we want either is it Dorsetbred?

Maybe not, but my unscientific "gut feeling" still sticks with zonality, even after last week.

First time it's reached 10C here since November 16th. Very different feel to the air this afternoon despite the day itself looking exactly the same as yesterday.

Let's get this tropical blip out the way and it looks like the weekend might not be so bad after all.

This autumn/winter is threatening to turn into a right c... up in terms of long range forecasts...

I cant see wintry weather currently in forecasts for December... then a bias to zonal Jan now we could see a 5th year without a winter.. :wallbash:

Yes unbelievable to think really. Surely soon we have to have a decent winter.

It's looking quite decent from where I'm standing :whistling:

Anyway a clear morning with some Ci and contrails. Temp 12C but quite breezy from the south gusting 30mph.

Very warm spring day today, even the flies are in my cat's food. Went out in a shirt and felt fine.

 Just realized I have posted in the wrong thread:doh: This is what happens when your browser keeps quitting lol, you no longer know where you live anymore:crazy:

A positively tropical 12C this afternoon. With lights winds and milky sunshine it feels like one of those first warm days in March.

Slightly brighter than yesterday which isn't saying much considering how dull it was. Feeling mild with a high of 11.8°C. Current temp 11.2°C.

This time last week I was out walking the dog dressed like an Eskimo. Tonight I was out with just a t-shirt....and trousers etc. Point being the turn around in Temps is mad brilliant and very British. Hoping though for more Eskimo weather soon...

Wondering whether to go to North Turkey for a snow fix...

Mild and mushy out there. It's amazing how wet everything is given we haven't had any rain.

I was thinking this earlier, everything seems to be wet for the last 3 or 4 days but it hasn't rained?! Is that literally due to moisture in the air??

far too hot last night! It was almost like summer - I woke up at 4.30 and had to sleep without the duvet. Interesting posts in the MOD thread this morning.. models have flipped overnight again with talks of an exploding vortex. I can't keep up!!
