Edit: Actually, found it, you can see the last 4 runs from links on the bottom left of the page, and a combined graph of the last 4 runs. Something like this.

graphe3_1001___2.4457_57.2322_.gif

Average 850s of -5C at my locations isn't a bad place to be starting but is more cool rather than cold and snowy. Hopefully that can trend colder.

That's what I use too - surprising that most people don't realise you can substitute your own lat and lon - you don't have to use the preset ones.

The best snow is the un-forecasted type..... :yahoo:

Slight dusting now, I'm thinking that qualifies as a snow day.

Husband reporting minus 6.7 here now. I feel sorry for the wee birds, need to give them some more of his hidden (he thinks!) stash of digestive biscuits ...

Aye, very nice! Now really, what is the likelihood of it actually happening? Should I stock up on tinned soup? Anyhoo, 3.4c here with a light breeze. Where's the frost that was forecast then? Not here, that's for sure!

-3.6C here and still dropping slowly. With a forecast high of 1C here I'm sure a few places will manage an 'ice day'. Shame that's probably the best we can hope for though.

Clear sky, great visibility, slight frost, no wind to speak of and temp  -1C.

Treated to another interesting sunrise.

Odd morning here really.   Reached a low of -1.9c overnight which was achieved just after midnight but absolutely no frost at 8am.   Presumed it must have been a northerly flow because that usually prevents frost here but on checking it had been W/WSW all night. By 9am temp had dropped to -2.9c and car was covered in frost.

I wish some of the same people would refrain from commenting on the models.   It's as if they either don't understand what all of the charts are saying or they gain some sick enjoyment by posting the most negative comments they can muster.   Obvious again this morning when I logged on to view overnight model comments.   Model Moan thread was first in the queue and my heart sank.   However when I viewed the MOD, all knowledgeable posters seemed quite enthusiastic about another set of good ECM/UKMO runs.  (Even John Holmes posting positive comments)   Not knocking John, he only posts what he sees on the type of charts he uses which, until now,  have not been for a very favourable outlook.  GFS 00z on the other hand had left the party in a mood!

Added some charts  from the 06z below which  are already much improved from the GFS 00zs.

Was -6.4c here last night. Currently -3.1c although where the sun is out it is (very) slowly defrosting.

Seen snapchats of cars reading -8c and -9c a bit further north of here out in the sticks.

Wish we got this weather more often, is actually pleasant if you wrap up warmly. Much 'warmer' than 2c and heavy rain

Stunning day. A joy to be out and about early this morning. -3c at 8am after a low of around -4c. I'd take weeks of this kind of weather please!

Edit: 1pm - temp still just below freezing. Slight chance of recording an 'ice day' for the first time in forever!

We dropped to -3.3 overnight, we climbed back up to the dizzying high of 1.9 and we are now back down to 0.8 and falling.

The long wait for an ice day continues.......

I though Aboyne might have managed it but nope, it hit 2.7C.

Edit: Even Braemar has hit 0.8C.
