Isotherm levels are still relatively high though.

I've no idea what any of that means! :-D Although uppers combined with the picture posted earlier and I think I can guess ...

I’ll just go to bed then

The chances fair better tomorrow, when the colder air has had time to set in.

some speculation (in nw regional thread) that a circulation feature may be forming west end of the trough.

does look like potential on the radar.

Then what would happen?

Wetbulb temperatures look to be too high for most down at lower levels. Even if that showery activity made it over here, I would expect it to be falling as rain.

Wet bulb ~ *snigger* ~ What temps do we need our wetness to be? ... I can't even find my wet bulb tthing ...

If you can get the WBFL down below where the clouds are housing their precip, then we could be in luck! In heavier pecip, you'll create isothermic drag - bringing the WBFL closer to the ground.

Worth taking a look here:

Just looking at the animation of the radar between 9:45-11pm and it looks like Henry the hoover is doing his thing on the Welsh mountains again.

Hopefully the heavier stuff will make it here though.

Just looked at the bbc weather forecasts. What a load of cockadoodledo!!! It looks like the cold air never makes it here and we don't really go below 3c.

Dp hovering just above 0 here and the temperature has stopped dropping. Still a little away from 'cold spell' territory. Hopefully temperatures will lower considerably before any showers arrive.

Lasted all of about 2 mins before turning sleetier... but for a moment it was definitely snow. Radar shows a pulse passing over Exmoor - if we are very fortunate temps will fall further and anything from around 0300 might be both snow and might stick. I havent given up hope of seeing a little bit of white on the grass before it melts tomorrow morning!

Current wind direction is perfect for longest sea track between Ireland and north Somerset - which should give chances for snow showers through the night. Surprisingly dew point would appear to be -3 if the nearest weather station hasnt developed a fault... and temps set to fall to freezing.

Relying on your reports for early tomorrow morning for a potential drive over to the Mendips for a snowy walk.
