2010 added to the hype of December, along with snowy Christmas films and cards. Snow before Christmas is very rare.

Feb on record ( I think ) has been more beneficial.

decembers are usually mild and wet

I must be lucky as I started-out on BBC 'Slowatch', back around New Year 2003, when 'Big Joe B' was wittering on about a 'mini Ice-Age', as is his wont...taught me a lesson did that: just because some twonk promises you the world (a tad like Brexit?) it doesn't make it any more likely to happen...:D

Never mind that, is it going to snow in Carlisle?

Tbf to the MOD thread, there is definitely stuff to be getting excited about; it is going very cold and there will be snow this weekend, something the UK hasn't seen for a long time!! Especially in December!! However it's just that us poor southeaster's are being missed out yet again while the North get their snowmen, ggrrr!!! This is when I try to repeat my mantra "we get hotter summers.... we get hotter summers.... we get more sunshine..... we are lucky to live in the Southeast....." (note that I only TRY to repeat this mantra, lol!!!)

However I still feel confident that we could see further chances! It' only the start of winter and it's a fantastic cold northern hemisphere start to winter! If this was February and our last chance of a marginal event before it flipped back to mild/early spring then I may be replicating one of my three year old's tantrums but we've still lots to play for in a synoptically good situation!!!!xx

It’s going to cake Kent!

wel maybe not, but considering we had a fall last week with nothing on the charts I have to say I’m holding a hope for something this weekend with a tiny something on them.

I feel things have changed dramatically in the last couple of hours. Tomorrow mornings ECM will deliver the goods. Things are on the turn.........

Forget this "is it going to snow in............", I'm starting a new fad. Is it going to rain in......Codicote this weekend?

Yep, way too early to be writing anything off, or calling anything for that matter.

This even/system will need to get going before us in the SE can make any concrete calls.

For the keen weather enthusiasts its certainly worth keeping the charts and observations or comparisons later on down the weather life route!

Wish i could understand half of these charts, my rule of thumb is, if its cold and cloudy it might snow. Not the best forecast you ever heard, granted!

Forgive my dirty mind but that is one phallic looking snow chart..

Best place in our region will be the Chilterns those out west especially a dusting or a light covering possible.

Take a look at the latest fax chart & do you notice the trough flowing towards the SE? Uppers will be -4 = SNOW on Friday :yahoo:
