Quite dramatic looking now, with heavy wet snow falling.  Won't last too long on the ground even though it's sticking in parts, far to slushy looking.

Made more bizarre by the fact the Flintshire hills which reach 300m asl got rain

Can see Hope mountain from the back of the house and that tops out at 300m. All snow up there (very top is shrouded in cloud atm).

Am visiting the mother in law in Bolton and I can confirm there was snow overnight with a decent covering which part melted due to a period of sleety rain now replaced by the 50p snowflakes others are seeing. and a full covering again

Heavy and starting to settle in the city centre too.

It reminds me of a morning in March this year when heavy wet snow settled everywhere for an hour due to its intensity.

Good to see more and more parts of the region getting in the act now.

snow is turning heavier here now and we have reached the magical 5cm although temperatures are worrying and the first car bonnet avalanche has already taken place.

The radar shows that it is about to dry up anyway.

Distinct back edge to this latest band of wet snow/sleet.  It will be through Oldham in about an hour I would have thought.  Maybe lingering up in the eastern hills.

Conditions on the roads deteriorating here with cars and vans sliding up the hill, something not helped by Lancashire County Councils apparent inability to actually operate snow ploughs on roads which need them.
