Well if its raining at 300m its goodnight vienna for me.

Jesus even gfs was optimistic with its 1 hour of snow.

No doubt EC will rain on the gfs parade this morning.

One day we might get a decent snow event!:nonono:

Usual Snake Pass, Woodhead, Cat+Fiddle roads shut so-far this morning and as people begin to head out to work i'll expect to hear of more road closures once the volume of traffic builds on the side-roads. Here at 210m there's a covering of snow but only 2cm at the most however radar suggests more on the way for the morning so the modelled 10cm accumulation may still happen.

......and it's raining.  Will have to go some to meet Met O's Amber warning, possibly won't even meet their Yellow criteria at the moment.  BBC breakfast have stationed a camera up on the M62 at Huddersfield and there are a few flakes falling there but still not causing any issues at present.

THIS MORNING

A revised forecast. A big let down on the snowfall as less cold air has arrived quite quickly since 5am.

Rain and sleet falling for most but some snow will fall above 300M giving a covering. Places like the Pennines and Peak District could see 5-10cm. #uksnow

Radar looks good at altitude for the usual areas. Plenty of pink hanging around.

Festive sleet here as per.

Well thats a bust of monumental bust!!

Maybe the metoffice warnings for heavy snow should be altered to heavy rain lol.

Of course, rain breaking through the rain shadow with ease now!

Pmsl.

At least they have acknowledged it.

Same old same old.

Even XC weather were optimistic with an hour of snow.

Didnt even get that...Gfs wins.

Still snowing, maybe a couple of cm’s on the ground but looking at the speed this is pushing through the region, I suggest you get the car started now.
