@Weegaz if you want some real excitement then head in to the model thread!! Best charts in years!! -10 uppers coming from both the East and North West. If this verifys then the cold could be locked in for quite some time!!

Unreal. As MS says. We need to see what happens on the next runs. The 18z could be completely pished tonight. Lol. It has built from the earlier ECM run so who knows.

Fingers crossed. Several flakes of sleet today, in heavy downpours, 2 degrees from madness!!!

Been busy lately. Had a light dusting of snow this morning and just saw talk of the charts online. Shall be keeping an eye to see how things pan out.

Haven't been paying much attention to the charts or chatter recently. Sooo are we on the excitement scale or are we still on the meh scale?

GFS has - 10 uppers over us from the West. ECM mostly has us below - 7,-8 on the extreme east coast at times. I'd take the GFS.

Defo Neiller, wouldn't be the first time at all 

Good to see all the same and fingers crossed.  I'd take the GFS all day long for Tuesday.....its been good imo modelling previous events this winter.

Get the cold in first.  East coast may get snow showers of Irish Sea but to be fair all this 4 or 5 days away. Lots could and will change I’m afraid.

Continues to look promising this morning.  Tuesday looks the day for something good at the moment but still a good way off.

We could be on the verge of something real special here!! The trend continues on this mornings runs!!  I am off to Iceland Monday week and it could be epic up there!!

We need the easterly to bring colder uppers more to the W so fronts are snow. Another showerfest and I'll be pulling my hair out.

As usual in this kind of set up we have to wait and see how far West the cold comes.  Fingers crossed just!

Yes but look at the cold out West as well so it's not all about looking East.

The good thing is that we are getting attacked with air of around -10oC at 850 level from both the East and North West, a very, very rare occurrence.

Therefore any fronts approaching from the Atlantic will be snow.

Tuesday still looking good.

Havnt looked at models this morn. Is Tuesday prolonged snow or just showers if it happens?

Met Eireann not making any reference to much colder weather at all yet. Not unusual at this distance, I’d expect they will start referencing it from maybe tomorrow at the earliest. Still looking good!

It's a frontal snow band moving West to East, so it would be a period of heavy snow with snow showers to follow.

As ever in these blocky situations, the front could stall out somewhere on its Eastwards progress and give somewhere a massive dumping, who knows it could stall to the West of Ireland completely and no one gets it!
