Max of 28.3C yesterday here in my sheltered garden in Taunton.

Max of 22.7C today at 11.30 this morning but less than 3 hours later and it’s already down to 16.0C and falling steadily.

That's it - summer's over!

Really?:oldrofl:

When we are still in spring and you have written off summer?

Given the inbound cooler spell is now well and truly upon the northern parts of the area, it's interesting to see the pants drop(well at least the temperature has!)..

After the heady highs of 21C we are now well and truly on the downward spiral, currently 15.4°C

The cooler air looks to have almost stalled looking at this

It's slow progression shows well on the radar chart, and less so on the satellite image

Patience I'm sure it will arrive eventually !

AND, as Mapantz eluded to earlier in the MOD thread the wind has picked up, a combination of the cooler air and the breeze has sent the starlings packing (for today!)

Yup noticeably cooler now @ 12.3°C

The precipitation on the front has almost died as expected..

One thing on the RISE is the pressure as the HIGH begins to move in..

Down from 22.1°C at noon to 13.2°C at 17.00. plus a nagging, strong NE wind.  Very glad I took my exercise this morning!

Here it was 21.1C at 10:58 and the max was 21.6C at 12:21, then it was 14.4C at 4pm, 12.2C at 6pm, and 9.2C at 8pm.

A strong gusty wind picked up through the afternoon, and now some lower level cumulus is moving fast under some more mid-level slightly unstable looking cloud that is slow moving.

Yesterday was kind of interesting too, we had a max of 23.2C at 2:31pm and we seemed just as warm as inland at the time, despite a sea breeze from about 11:30am.
Even stations a few hundred meters from the coast were in the low 20's or at least around 20C.

Normally a sea breeze has a bigger effect on temperature in warm spells, and can even make the temp right on the coast drop to near the sea surface temperature.. but occasionally it seems to have less of an impact. I have some theories but it would be interesting to know the dynamics of why.

9.3°C here, with a 'feels like' temp of 6.4°C.

It's blowing an absolute hoolie now. Leaves being stripped off of trees and bushes.

You could say it was a day of two halves here with the warm start before the significant change to cold and windy later on with occasional light rain. One thing that was consistent all day was that it stayed cloudy. Reached 19.4°C this morning before the temperature fell away. Currently 8.4°C

Was 8°C at midnight after the drop from midday in the twenties.
A low of 6°C at at 6am this morning.
Now 7.9°C, with lovely clear blue skies.
The NE to NNE wind was at its strongest yesterday evening, 20mph with some 30mph gusts, dropped overnight to 15-20mph and 23-27mph gusts.
Has picked up again this morning, with occasional 25-30mph gusts.

Very chilly out there. Only just got to 10C.

We have a clematis that grows up one of the garden fences and over - last night it detached itself and is now hanging on for dear life and lying on the patio!

Similar unfortunate events here, the foilage that was making its way up our garden arch decided to rupture and make a break for it. A few pots also blew over (and cracked), so have lost a few bulbs that were just starting to sprout. Disappointed
