That looks like it’ll sweep round and end up over us

I hope it does swing round......it’s strange how in the last 30 mins an area of ppn has developed just to the south of me!!!

You can see from the shape of the weather warning where the heaviest stuff is most likely to go.

But there seems to be a lot of activity around. So I think we'll all see at least something. We've already just had a moderate snow shower move through here leaving a fresh dusting.

Yep started again pure light snow. Really watching that PPN start to pivot now. Will if go south or south west. Current track is through Wales and West mids. We shall see.

I'm not seeing any pivot, and it continues to move SW into West Mids and Wales, which is strange because the showers that appeared just 100 miles or so ahead over Wolves seem to be moving SSE.

I think that's what is giving the illusion of it pivoting.

We should all see a period of moderate to heavy snow...but that big area coming down from north of York is obviously the one giving the Met Office concern because that'll give a quite prolonged period of heavy snow. And if you look, that's heading right into the warning area.

It's going to go right down the Transpennine route. Leeds, Manchester, Chester and the very northwest tip of our region are in for a very interesting evening.

The rest of us will still see something, but it won't be as for long as it will be for those areas.

That's my take on it.

I may be wrong...but I can't see a pivot....yet anyway.

Edit: And for those feeling that they've been very unlucky this week, watch the radar sequence and focus on the city of York...how close? Poor souls.

I agree.....if you use York as a marker it never drops below that and continues on a South West track....I am pinning my hopes on the area of ppn just off Hull/Grimsby based on current track.

One positive is that the later it arrives the colder it will hopefully be

Gotta say it’s not been great for us at in Rugby at all. No lying snow so far and everything seems to just miss us. Had about two showers all winter so far

ICON12 still shows some snow in the evening for W.Mids, but the initialization looks wrong so wouldn't put much trust in it

I think it will pivot tbh, if you consider the showers we have had are coming from a nw direction that tells me the stuff coming from the ne will move sw and then start to move south and then se. May be completely wrong but that’s my take on it. Time will tell of course

Moderate snow here now cant quite see where its coming from on the radar and app watch has put us bk on 7 hours of light snow. Got a feeling on few cms tonite for the mids. The confusion seems to be the band that's heading towards Ireland and the one just behing it thats more fragmented but could still produce heavy sbow if it keeps its intensity.

There is a definite pivot. Run the radar animation for the last hour and you can see the pivot point seems to be just above Birmingham and Leicester. The PPN that is around us in Northampton, is heading NW to SE in direction.
