On Monday I mentioned this look at the kink in the isobars over N east Scotland.Thats the trough forming that's what's going to give longer outbreaks of snow by dawn tommorow.

I hope we all see snow but so far it's been a let down.

I hate to sound negative but don’t have any hope for the front coming down it looks like it’s going to fizzle out quite quickly. Probably dandruff or drizzle for most of us.

The met be caught a bit with there trousers down. The trough moving is causing the slow movement of the front as it catches up.Fair amount of snow  2 to 4cm attached to this trough.

Now this is more like it, clear skies light winds and a fantastic looking frost, warming up to much later for any snow to lower levels but high ground may have a sprinkle. There's an ice warning and no snow warning so rain to lower levels causing ice to form for overnight and maybe where it hits the cold surfaces to start

Dry air hard frost but because of lack of moisture didn't take too much de-icer to unfreeze car lock for a change.  Looks beautiful out there.  Still some lying snow over tops.

Do you think there will be more snow than expected?

It's not the front that's going to prove much snow ,look at the trough coming from the north behind 2cm to 4cms to reach a Wales by dawn.Expect yellow weather warnings by 12.

Had a nice low of -2.8c overnight, everything has a nice think white frost covering. Still -1.8c. Expecting just rain for tonight as forecast along the coast at just 40m and 1mile inland, but good luck to those a bit further inland a higher up!

As I mentioned yesterday I think a lot of Wales will get a covering over the next 36/48 hours

It now seems the dying cold front will be reinvigorated by a trough that lies to the NE and that is set to move through wales later tonight and tomorrow

I personally think there will be a few surprises

Dew points and uppers all favourable 5-10 miles inland as well as surface temps being sub zero

The sweet spot I expect to get 5-10cms with 1-3cms quite widely across the nation but particularly in mid and SE wales

That’s my take anyway

Very good analysis, what are your views on the Valleys down into Cardiff?

Personally I think the upper valleys from Hirwaun over to Brynmawr (HoV) will do well

lower down towards Ponty/Nantga’ will get a covering. Cardiff I expect falling snow but will be dependent on time of day and whether we have any solar heating before as to weather it settles

I’ll be heading over to Tredegar way and left off the HoV road into the Beacons, that’s where I expect the biggest totals and an ice day

ill grab some photos too and share them here

The BBC said there's a complication with the forecast lol so god knows what's going to happen.

We'll either have a 30 degree heatwave or 17 feet of snow.
