Yes, I think some earlier runs had a straight northerly or NNE'ly for the region but as we've got nearer the time a ridge of high pressure has been picked up east of Lincolnshire which is tending to switch the winds in Yorkshire as well as Lincolnshire to a NNW'ly, which means mainly coastal showers.  Like some others I have a chance of seeing out the entire cold spell without seeing any snow falling or even sleet, though the GFS precipitation outputs point to is a slight chance of some snow showers coming inland as far as Lincoln between tomorrow and Friday.  Just a slight chance though.  UKV has the showers very much confined to coasts except for coming a little way inland to the North York Moors.

Well just stuck my head out of the door to have pre work walk, overnight a very light covering of snow, but it was drizzling, and freezing as soon as it hit the ground, slippery under foot so decided to postpone walk... Looks like more 'something' incoming on radar. Showers are running almost parallel to the coast, so our little nose of land looks likely to catch them but they wont spread far inland

My thermometer reading -4 C ..   and it says that on my laptop info too.
From what I can glimpse outside it looks totally white and sparkly with frost
Might be an out with the camera morning.

Morning. -9.4 again overnight in our garden. Now 0.1° and a very slight covering of snow with more snow on radar coming down the coast; though most appear to be turning from ‘orange to blue’ (on the radar) just before they reach us

BBC1 breakfast forecast this morning seemed quite adamant that temperatures would rise on Sunday in the west only made a point of saying it so could be a few surprises for majority of our region weekend and into mid next week. Also showed most of the country back in cold air Monday anyway, beyond that looking unclear as usual but we will see what turns up Sunday-Wednesday next week!👍

Not sure now that  I did get an ice day yesterday as the thermometer in the Stevenson screen showed 0.3C.  A 0.7C difference between the Davis and the Stevenson screen which does happen ever so often. I'm now wondering if I didn't shake down enough but it's hard to tell as the scale only goes down to -2C.

Just peeped out the window to see we've had an overall covering of snow now.
I missed seeing it fall !

2nd ice day in a row yesterday here as well.  It’s -3.5c at 7.35am after an overnight low of -5.5c at 3.30am.  Could we see a 3rd consecutive ice day?

This cold spell has been impressive putting snow aside!

-7.1°C overnight here, the lowest since Feb 2021. Most of the snow showers east of here but managed to clip one earlier giving the slightest of sugar dustings. Inland elevated areas near the coast are getting some good snow totals by sound of it.
