58mph recorded in the village here on a weather station and only 65m asl.
as Wold Topper said Hasty Bank at 80mph and Loftus near Whitby has hit 74mph. Wildest night for some time.

Staxton, over the hill from me reporting 40mph+ maybe a tad sheltered as opposed to up here?

Burton reporting the same as Staxton. Can’t believe it’s only 40mph from the sound of it. Forecast says could reach 60mph over next few hours.

Just been out to the shed for some tinned apples 😉 and the wind is really picking up, trees at the end of the lane are dropping a bit of free fire wood for me 😁

Woke me up just after midnight, really blowing here, its blue bin day today, and a lot of people put their bins out last night, as it wasnt too bad, but I dont think there will be much to empty judging by the assorted cans etc blowing up the road at about 12.15am.

Yesterdays bike ride was also notable for rain, I was late going out because of a work video call that I was leading, and I got caught in the downpour just after 1.30, Got wet through to the skin, literally, had to change everything when I got in.

A crunchy drive into work plenty of twigs to drive ove rmost of the fallen wheelie bins are off the road. Wind tried to trap my hand when it blew the car door shut. Luckily got my hand far enough away otherwise could have been four hours or more in AE.

Burton station recorded wind speed of 49mph with highest gust of 51mph overnight. A lot calmer this morning, current reading wind speed of 13mph with max gusts of 28mph. Fortunately no apparent damage overnight ☺️. A nice start to the day with sun rising into blue skies.

Yes, one to watch for the early hours of Monday. Looks quite marginal for most but western sides of Sheffield and higher parts of West and North Yorkshire could wake up to a surprise?

Just had a good look through the charts, definitely not happening for Yorkshire, we pull in an Easterly wind  on Monday morning.

-5/-6 upper won't cut it unfortunatly we'll have a strong warming effect from the North Sea.

The high res models highlight this quite nicely.

Agree that at the moment is doesn't look like we are in the best position , South West Peak District may be best , e.g Buxton. But it is still a few days away and too early to completely discount it.  Snow line in W Yorks could be say 250-300m but subject to change in the coming days if we get a slight adjustment to the system and wind strength or direction .

Wind has been wild here last 24 hours!

did anyone managed to sleep? I kept getting woken up things crashing abit! it was brown bin day here too so that was fun!

Was bad here here on Sheffield border someone has lost their trampoline and some poor sod has ended up with a smashed windscreen and dented car bonnet.

Was very difficult to sleep haven't heard wind like that since experiencing the full strength of Storm Arwen.
