Precipitation strengthening quite a bit over Leeds / Bradford area. Good timing as well. Slushy coverings starting to build on the pavement.

Can see the snow/rain line on the 06 AROME for tonight, anyone East of the Trent will struggle for snow if this comes off

BBC weather app is useless. It has sleet all day for my location but it's done nothing but snow since I got up at 6.45am. However the snow is very wet. Heavy enough to provide a covering on grass but not on roads or pavements yet at my altitude which is 22m or 71m asl (depending which app you believe). Sky seems a little brighter than it has all morning 😕

Afternoon., well after a morning of cold rain in Cleethorpes there’s now flakes of snow mixed in with it all. Strange as all the updates we’re showing my part of the world just having rain all day.

cheers

Had the same here, it's marginal so we'll get the odd flake mixed in, unfortunately we will probably remain the wrong side of marginal until the precipitation clears, maybe a bit of wet snow on the back edge.

Have about 4cm of snow. Definitely a bit of dripping (temp 0.3c) though its still coming down faster than it can melt. Radar suggests current intensity should last into the mid afternoon

Absolutely.  Set off for a short dog walk round the village.
Snowing lightly for a few mins, then turned to sleet.
Rain on the way back.  Not pleasant to be out I.M.O.

Yep, its thoroughly unpleasant. Just plain old rain/sleet here now too. Temp is 2.2C and dewpoint 0.4C.

Leeds city centre is more or less clear on the paths and roads, for what I can see. Looking on the cameras at home in Crossgates and it is sticking to some surfaces but depths are minimal.

Pic from garden light facing west.

12.16 is the time the sun is the highest, so daylight should diminish from now on, hopefully helping marginal conditions.

We're at risk of clearing from the south west in South Yorkshire at the moment, the gap is definitely getting closer on the radar.....

I just can't wait to get to 3pm now when it hopefully peps up again and the sun is going down...

Finally easing off here, a decent covering now, is that heavier stuff over N Wales heading our way?

An okay covering on the grass but no effort to settle on roads etc. Lightened up now.

Radar looks meh. Has the front moved through quicker than thought. Or is it due to pivot back round later.
