A grey and drizzly day at the coast today. Late morning bike ride produced a force 3 E wind, with persistent drizzle for the last half hour. Very misty. Looks like I could be hiding in the heat haters thread Sunday and Monday.

Sorry your photo showed an empty beach hence my tongue in cheek comment.

We were there the last week and I understand a pod of 50 dolphins were off north bay earlier today.

It's been rammed all week with camper vans but little or no surfing activity as its been  so calm.

Let's hope for more surf come the end of September when the UK surfing competition comes to Scarborough

It has become a camper van 'meca' around by the skate park area it would seem lol, it was flat calm in the bay today!

I've been going to Scarborough for the better part of 60 years!!

It was always our first choice of 2 weeks holiday.  I remember us getting to trafalgar Square in time to watch the world cup final in 66. Watching some greats at North Marine Rd and now staying in the apartments where the corner cafe was. It was always the North bay rather than the south

The apartments on the north bay are quite smart tbh, the north bay has always been my preference, good breakfast at the 'watermark' just abit expensive but worth it!

So annoyingly my vantage stopped working on the 5th - ive been away since then. Met Office stations suggest Leeds didn't reach 30c. Can anyone in the North East Leeds area verify?

Curious what the storm potential is tomorrow, though I don't expect anything here given the warning area......

In the last hour we've had a little cloud cover which has helped it feel more comfy
I think . Most of the day here though its been a scorcher.
I registered 29 C.
Hoping to get some of the rain showers .. but we shall see.

Some impressive skies at the moment.

Hopefully something develops more. Looks like a big storm Hull way at the moment.

Tomorrow another chance 😎🤞⛈️

Had report of plenty of T &L over Sproatly way & now report of Bransburton has lightning. As I’ve driven back from Filey frequent lightening seen coming up from the south…few spots of rain!! Wonder if the storm will bypass us 🤷🏼‍♀️⚡🤞🏼 ☺️

It’s looking pretty impressive isn’t it? Almost constant lightening!

The lightening look impressive from here on the wolds, near constant lightening south of here, Hornsea looks to be in the firing line,
