When I looked out the window this morning it was a winter wonder land thick snow and loads on the ground, there is still a decent amount but can only assume it rain a bit after.
No complaints here though this is the best start to winter in ages!

Another covering think we’ve already had more show than we did last winter

Definitely true for me here. Despite three or four weeks of cold and frost last winter, there was only ever a dusting of snow - ice was a much bigger problem as rain/sleet showers fell on permanently frozen ground. This is probably the most snow I've seen while living here, and that's five years now.

ETA: The most snow I've ever seen in one go in this country was in Caterham (Surrey) in Jan 1987. It was 80cm deep on my back lawn.

Best snow we’ve had in a while here. Early morning sledging and kids off to build a snowman ⛄️

The less cold air appears to be edging that bit closer, darlo is up to -0.3c now.

Yesterday during daylight it didn't get above -1.4c

Mate I drove to Tees barrage this morning, wow, you got a real good covering, much more than we have accumulated over the past four days, looked amazing, like driving into a Christmas film.

Yea mate must have been in the sweet spot for once, nice to have a few days of snow but it’s always so frustrating getting this much then next day rain.
Still only early in the season so hopefully plenty more days 👍🏻.

Another couple of cms overnight, Day 5, but the inevitable drip drip drip now occurring despite being just below 0 still.

At least I've managed to crack the ice the 🌲 was stuck in, to bring indoors later.

I normally judge a winter by the ability to build a snowman. Managed to build 2 and a snowdog. Right at the start of winter too.
