Some big fluffy flakes at the moment but lacking intensity. Day 4 of falling ❄️ this season 👍 Quite something to get Aurora & snow on same day, in Durham, as recall being torn if I wanted snow or lights in Iceland. Pleased the snow won out as looks much more magical

Putting the 🌲in a bucket of water not the greatest idea. I now have a tree doing the ice bucket challenge

I wonder if any of the  snow currently showing on radar over Cumbria will get across the hills to the N.E. today

My lowest temp recorded overnight was a perishing -7.5c🥶

Washington some big flakes. Trying to explain why the pennines take most of the power before it reaches the east to the other half.

Looks like darlo could be just a bit too far south for this afternoon snow. Hopefully not.

Yes mate we’re to far south. What’s new 😂

Who wants snow that gets washed away by rain a few hours later anyway 🤣.

Me, Windermere been the place to be today, hours and hours of snow!

York/ North Yorkshire looks to be the sweet spot for tonight.

Anyone want to feel like they’re in a Christmas movie check out the live cam from Windermere. Wow.

Situated by the lawns of Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa at the Watersports Centre & Marina. The webcam offers views over Windermere toward the Lake District fells

The beeb have decided to show a bit more of England overnight. We may wake up to a fresh covering in parts of the region.

its been a canny start to winter, still got a decent covering, ice day today, also had a few flakes this afternoon which has meant I have had snow falling every day since Tuesday (even if it was a few flakes today) 🙂

I am never convinced with systems coming in from the west, quite often turns out to be sleet or at best wet snow.

See what this brings if it hits us, what are your thoughts ?

Anything that's made it across so far has been snow here. Al be it just very light but it's given a little dusting. The issue is getting it over the Pennines

Good to see this thread alive with prospect of snow in the NE.

In north easterly and northerly airstreams I often dip into this thread rather than North west. Sometimes we are on the receiving end, but normally only far east Cumbria and NE Pennine regions.

Looks like your turn tonight.👍

Not kidding there. Been nearly 15 hours of continue snowfall for some places! event like that don’t happen to often.

Maybe the North East can get one soon 🤞🏻

Not got much hope for tonight, expect to wake up to rain,

I'm not expecting anything here tonight. Dry day tomorrow then maybe a bit of snow Sunday night before it turns to sleet/rain Monday morning then we are looking at a cool and wet week next week.

Wow!!! This wasn't expected! Darlo looks like a winter wonderland today. I woke up at around 4:30, I opened the window to one of the most beautiful snowfall I have seen... Bug fluffy snowflakes and no wind ...

It definitely added a few more centimeters of snow overnight . 🙂 enjoy everyone
