I wonder if any of the  snow currently showing on radar over Cumbria will get across the hills to the N.E. today

My lowest temp recorded overnight was a perishing -7.5c🥶

ECM showing a snowy breakdown on Thursday as the milder wetter weather pushes in from the south west

Don't like all the speculation in the winter thread but the Met O is backtracking slightly about the longevity of the less colder air lasting, I think we are in for a very interesting December.

White Christmas anyone?

It  would be great to see a white Xmas, was the last one back in 2010?

Not sure I want to listen to the met office warnings, other than stating the obvious Ice, yesterdays warnings were way off the mark,

loved to be proved wrong though.

Assume the warning for the snow is related to this system coming in from the west, think it will be slightly north for me so ice it is.

Think it was gazza, usually mild most years but I just have a little inkling this year will be different, hope I am right.

Like others have mentioned I can't believe there wasn't a warning for fog anywhere. We drove from Manchester late last night and from Leeds to just before Northallerton it was ridiculous.  It wasn't great on the way down either during rush hour. It took us nearly 4 hours because people don't drive to the conditions. I'll shut up now before this turns into a proper middle aged grumpy man rant!

That snow in Cumbria has caught the met office out.

They've rushed out an amber warning now.

Not surprised it’s been non stop snow for them all morning, looking at the Keswick cams it looks fantastic there.
