The North York Moors look like they have a load of snow going off the road cams so she you should see quite a bit up there.

Guisborough done well ( snowing again now ) but we are on the very edge of the moors and much much lower so I am sure Castleton and Blakey will be a winter wonderland

Seems we have another snow/ice warning for tonight, I thought going off the radar the showers start going back out to sea or is this a radar error,

Not complaining mind so let's hope it happens.

"

Issued: 09:53 (UTC) on Fri 1 Dec 2023

Wintry showers will affect North Sea coastal districts of England and Northern Scotland during Friday evening and overnight. These are likely to fall onto frozen surfaces in places allowing icy patches to form. Additionally, showers will fall as snow inland, with 1-2 cm possible in places, chiefly over hills. What should I do? Snowy, wintry weather can cause delays and make driving conditions dangerous. Keep yourself and others safe by planning your route, giving yourself extra time for your journey.

Wouldn’t want this shower hitting me anyway. Although lots of white stuff might come from it 😂😂

Cloud is suddenly rolling in from the east after a nice crisp sunny morning

Could be a nasty evening if we end up with freezing fog

Think it will be the sticky out bits who might see some shower activity, Scarborough, Filey, Flamborough etc.

Other than that the odd shower may sneak onshore but generally a very cold night to come, very icy I would guess with the snow melt through the day.

Going to be a very cold night, I cant fathom the Met warnings the showers wont make it inland due to the wind pushing them back out to sea,

Places like Scarborough etc might catch a few like Gizzy said.

Anyone else noticed the latest Met O update, interesting, I have a funny feeling this less colder air later next week may not stick around for long.

Moving towards mid December and more generally unsettled and milder conditions look most probable although a return of the colder conditions cannot be ruled out entirely.

As the start of winter goes we couldn't ask for much more really after the past few winters.

Freezing fog now and snow on the ground, Defiantly makes it feel Xmasy for once.

Looking interesting isn't it, there's very little onshore wind so it may make some progress, coast is best with this one I think.

Those showers don't seem to be moving much at all it's weird.

It is just so still though isn't it, hence the freezing fog, they are very slow moving, edging in to the coast but losing momentum.

I hope they get a move on soon though it's like pulling teeth 😂

Can't see how any of those showers will make it to land from the North Sea considering XC weather has the wind coming from the opposite direction.

Forecast says North easterly airflow so God knows what's happened tonight.

Very cold night last night here in the north east. Looking at the County Durham weather cams there were a couple at -8 just now (Bradbury and Ushaw Moor). We must have got down to -10 somewhere.

Lovely crisp cold morning. ECM looks interesting for tonight/tomorrow morning.
