It has snowed all morning here. Just not particularly heavily so only a bit of a wet and slushy covering. Seems to have been a case that since conditions have been right for snow, we just haven’t had the intensity of the overnight rain. 
 

I thought the sweet spot would have been the higher parts of Lanarkshire but it seems to have been the Dunblane area and heading up towards Perthshire. Parts of the Glasgow area have done surprisingly well. 
 

Still, nice to see and some great pictures on here this morning.

Snowing heavily this morning first thing. Then very light snow for a few hours. Few cm's on the ground. Everything is still white but it's fairly low quality snow!

Great to see some snow success from the front. As Sauve mentioned, last night actually dented snow cover up here, had to laugh. The factors that favour you in some set-ups will hinder you for others. Managed some snow spells initially but all a bit marginal and grim since. Probably the opposite of Shuggee, bit too north of the action. Zero complaints about winter so far though, chugging along very nicely. Jan in to Feb always interesting. Still get the feeling something spectacular is going to turn up, will see

Afternoon all

Loving all the pictures!

Very local walk (17 minutes) up to Gourock golf course - snow fix sorted! 

Three/four inches in the highest parts.

 

 

 

Highest point was glorious - could have stayed there all day. 

 

More of these days please through the rest of the month/February at least!

Always impressive to see the sharp snowfall gradient!

Went for a wee walk a couple of minutes drive away. Amazing the difference just a couple of hundred feet altitude made. Even up there though it has turned to rain and a bit slushy underfoot. Felt a bit sorry for the small calves and the ducks.

Yeah just back from a walk with the dog and despite it being on the more liquid end of sleet at the house all day, just a 100m or so further uphill it's falling as snow. Wet snow, but it's still accumulating on the trees and forest tracks. Temp has been between 0C and 1C since midnight so very little variation.

I've been staying out of the MOD thread as it just got too ridiculous, and time consuming. Looking at the models I have no idea what the next week or two is going to bring weather wise as every run seems to be different to the next. The only thing I can say is that it is unlikely to be boring, is won't be mild, not for any length of time, and if it's going to snow then we'll have a better chance than most in the MOD thread as usual.

pouring of rain and 5 inches of slush in the cul de sac, if this really does see skys clear and freeze up gonna be fun and games tomorrow. I am hoping it does to provide the best possible sledging conditions....fast and frozen

A female bullfinch in the frozen weeds is the best I can do (taken just before New Year).
