Burnt too many times

Yea I'd say this won't be pinned down till about 20 mins before hand ...forecasting it looks like trying to juggle coal on fire with hands covered in paraffin

That was a stormy night, did the gales come in a lot earlier than  predicted?

⚠️ Storm Dudley is on the way!

Storm Dudley will bring high winds later this afternoon and evening. Winds will start to increase from the west from around 12/1pm before gradually increasing across all parts and decreasing later this evening/tonight.

Wind gusts of 50-60mph are likely widely across NI, along with the risk of gusts up to or exceeding 70/80mph around the coast and in exposed areas for a time.  Some sheltered areas may escape the worst of the winds i.e. – on the Leeward side of mountains, in built up areas etc.

The public should be aware of:
Risk of Disruption to travel - Road, Rail, Air & Ferry services.
Risk of Interruptions to power supplies.
Downed trees, power lines & Damage possible to roof tiles and lose objects etc
Risk of large waves impacting coastal areas - Coastal flooding etc.

The public are advised to:
Take extra care if travelling.
Stay away from downed trees & power lines.
Take note of emergency contact numbers.
Remove or tie down any loose objects in gardens.
Avoid coastal areas such as beach & sea fronts, promenades and coastal roads due to risk to personal safety from large over topping waves and debris.

Looks like there will be plenty of snow/sleet falling,  but will it stick or be a slushy mess?

A few hours lying  snow (if you're lucky) before the rain washes it away. Sounds miserable. Roll on Spring.

The storm tomorrow is looking interesting. I'm near the Cork/Tipp border, so red/orange warning area. Should be the first big test of the weather station I got at xmas!
