Temperature beginning to drop here, down 1.1C in the last 45 min to 6.9C. Will need to go much further before sleet even becomes a possibility.

EDIT: Plummeting now, down to 5.4C, so a 2.6C drop in little over an hour. Dew point still up at 4.5C, so needs to keep dropping.

Met Eireann 9pm report on their website shows 1c for Mullingar and light sleet ....so temps really plummeting as the front comes south and the cold air digs in

Mentions light sleet in Gurteen too, which ain't too far.
Already down to 1.9C now, dew point 0.6C. Quickly turning to snow and sticking to windows a little.

Been snowing in south kilkenny for last 2 hours or so but ground too wet to lay. Nice to see though....hard to believe temps were 9 degrees just a few hours beforehand....

Snowed for a while last night a started to stick. I went to sleep shortly after with a little hope but alas, nothing this morning.
The Galtees are looking good though. Gonna head up there in about 2 hours.

Had a sprinkling of flakes on car this morning. Very icy though. At last some interesting winter weather!

Some nice snowfall in Belfast, too wet for anything to sit though but it's still nice to watch

First taste of winter is here, what’s people La thoughts on the next couple of days?

With warnings out I would have thought this forum would have been a bit livelier, I haven’t been in the MOD thread yet, I assume it’s the rollercoaster of emotion it always is

Northern amd Western areas most likely to see a few cms of snow tomorrow night into Friday but anywhere could see a dusting I would imagine....a little less cold over the weekend and next week looks drier with high pressure taking hold

MOD Thread has come alive again as GFS is suggesting Greenland heights from around day 11 or 12 but way out in lala land....

The temperature has climbed from 7 to 8C here in the last 2 hours, probably thanks to the sunshine. The dew point has dropped from 6.7C to 2.6C in the same time, so the colder polar maritime air is digging in.
