Went up to 13 degrees, pleasant but nothing special, unfortunately the sun arrived too late, and the skies have been milky white rather than blue. Tomorrow should be warmer but not expecting wall to wall sunshine or blue skies.

Thursday onwards will most likely bring blue sky and lots of sun but a much cooler air mass, before a cold plunge!

Apologies for being a miserable sod but after seeing today’s lovely warm conditions, not enjoying them though as I was working, the last thing I want again is icy cold winds and a northerly that actually delivers snow.

pleeeeeeze follow the same pattern as the majority of the last winter and downgrade.

one positive though is that there is a delay on the arrival of the cold so hopefully a usable meeting the family in the garden type of Easter is still possible with the coldest conditions from Monday onwards.

Morning All.

A lot going on so hope to get on forum more at some point.

Typically, I have pressing matters and the weather is suitable for doing the garden. Once pressing matters are resolved, I will be freezing my balls off with twolayers in the cold and S....

A glorious few days here this week. A real summer like feel in the afternoons. Proper beer garden weather. Although it will be cooler by the weekend, it should still be dry with periods of sunshine on Friday and Saturday. Although the air will be colder, the sun packs a real punch by now and will probably still feel pleasant enough in the afternoons in the sun, so should be decent enough for outdoor meetups.

Morning

Cross model agreement now on the cold spell which looks a real potent affair transition seems to be Sunday as the  cold front spreads North to South meantime a very usable few days coming up as @Dextersays above the sun is now starting to feel very pleasant so a few days yet to do those chors before the weather changes.

Cold and potentially snowy looking cold plunge still there now at Day 5!

And if Darren Bett is on board then it must be cold "snow showers pushing south Monday"

-10 uppers is quite exceptional in Winter these days nevermind in April.

The coast IS included in this by the way....

If it's going to happen, oh go on then!

Mmm all depends on strength of wind, from tomorrow a cooler air mass will take the edge off things and a slight breeze.

We are up to 15 degrees very respectable for late March. Light winds and milky skies rather than wall to wall sunshine, but it feels quite summery.. but wouldn't call it summer like.

20.2C the high here, the southern half of the region just about far enough south and east to catch this warm air it would seem. Regionally this spell just behind March 2012 in terms of remarkable as this current one not as long lasting as 2012. Looking like a 10 degree drop though tomorrow with a fresher NE wind.

Xcweather going for a temp of only 3C here on Monday afternoon. Chilly 850's all the way down into Spain too by Tuesday and Wednesday.

Great weather outside today with blue skies and hitting a max of 22'c on my short wander around Lamaload Res, a few bikers, cyclists, other hikers, and Paragliders making the most of it all before the cold pool arrives from tomorrow morning.

At least all the beaches and parks will be clean and get a chance.

Scum.

These charts reminds of those classic and crazy April ones from the 1920s or something where you think it just won't happen in modern times. Where you'd see pics of heavy snow in strange places like coastal Devon & Cornwall.

A long drawn northerly with -10 uppers and very low thicknesses just to the north of Scotland. You would think this would be a snow machine.

Think I was a bit young then but I’ll take your word for it

I remember a bit of snow blowing about in the wind early April last year while I was stood in my 2 metres of queue outside Aldi and like and idiot I’d gone out without a jacket.

We often get a late fall or two of snow up here but nothing like the amazing dumping we had in late April 81 though, the event that all spring snowfalls will probably be judged against.

Yes, you may well be right. Having just checked the 'real feel' temperatures on the automated forecast for Friday and Saturday, it does look like the wind may take the edge of the temperature, buy may still be pleasant enough in places sheltered from the breeze, given the strength of the sun now.

Certainly some decent potential for some hefty snow showers on Monday. There is decent convective energy by now as well which will aid shower development. A potentially very interesting day in prospect.

Indeed with such low thicknesses also, I expect shower clouds to readily form inland and heavy convective snow showers to be widespread. Some areas may get tempory coverings also but if a shower hits around sunset, any snow could stick around overnight.

I do think the NW coastal areas will miss out though, the winds are too NNW'ly for showers off the sea and inland convection won't be an issue so whilst there could be convective cloud around from showers inland and showers out in the Irish sea I'm not expecting anything wintry here.
