Thanks to @cheshire snow getting temporarily sucked back in here!

IF it's offering this then I'd take it even in April!

At the minute I'd give it a 5% chance.

I’ll let you keep that cold plunge if that’s alright.

i don’t have a problem with snow in early April, only when it falls over an Easter weekend at the ass end of a near 12 month lockdown.

just want to be able to use the meeting up in gardens bit of the relaxations without being under 10 layers of clothes.

Checked the cctv... snowed between 2-4am quite heavy for a while and had a brief covering... 7c now and lots of cyclists and horse riders about broadbottom, charlesworth and simmondly... looking forward to Monday/Tuesday with 18-20c possible...

Looks like we are going to ricochet from a warm late Spring esque  few days early next week with 20c possible  to a potentially very cold Easter. Coldest since Easter 2008 perhaps?? It snowed as low down as the Cheshire plain that year from memory. Likely to be watered down to a chilly, showery dreary spell closer to the time but one to watch for sure

Definitely interesting charts, slightly continental with these temperature swings.... kind of reminds me of when I lived in the US for a year but ours a more watered down version. When I was in Chicago in the April we had 6 inches of snow one day, which brought an ice day and a bitter strong NW wind (their coldest wind direction) but then 5 days later it was a scorching 30C & humid with air dragged all the way up from the Gulf of Mexico.

But this is an insane chart from the 6z GFS for our patch haha. The 12z degrades it though.

Cold day here, max 9 degrees, currently 8.5 degrees, overcast and a cold wind. Fells held snow down to 600m, proof how cold the uppers are.

Alas tomorrow will be different, a milder airstream moving in, but sadly also bouts of rain..

A wet, windy start to the day here with the rain hammering on the conservatory roof.

Hopefully the forecast comes off though, at least from an IMBY perspective and the dryer conditions move in during the morning to give a better afternoon and evening with the added bonus of another hours daylight.

Radar looks fairly dank. The grass will need a cut but not till the 12 th April

No surprise to see the rain unable to cross the mighty Pennines and instead hang around our region like a bad smell.

if it had been snow we’d have had a dusting at best and been looking on enviously as Yorkshire and the NE. we’re getting buried but it isn’t so we’re stuck with rain doing it’s best to ruin yet another weekend

So much rain and more to come, and then strong winds. Already more water in the beck than in the last named storm and yellow warning. Surprised that there was no warning.

Grey, wet & windy - the 3 weather descriptions I hate the most; and the combination that I leave the bicycle in the garage....

Utterly miserable out there, we are not going to benefit from the extra our of light this evening unfortunately. Currently heavy rain and temp 10 degrees.

Swilling down lat night and this morning.  Floods.   Picked up 31.1mm for previous 24hrs at 9GMT.

Radar seems to show rain locked in our NW hills again.

Finally had some sort of clearance here.

A bit bit of rain still blowing about in the wind but at least it’s brighter with even some sunshine so a definite improvement on this morning.

Grim filthy wet. Howling gusty wind.

Absolutely hammering it down, has been for pretty much 24hrs. 45mm now and still coming down in sheets.

Hopefully the dry season will arrive soon, April and May often dry and sunny.

Tuesday still looking like a really decent day, sunny light breeze and around 20C for favoured spots in our region. Tomorrow afternoon could be nice though if the forecasted cloud does indeed clear.

Some bizarre posts in the mod thread from some members who normally ramp up the cold and snow in winter and now looking at every opportunity to downplay it because it doesn't suit there agenda hay ho.....truth be told I would rather have the warm sun now but it we are going to have a last blast of winter then so be it.
