Uneventful day really (a miracle)! Started sunny clouded in but most importantly no rain. Looks like a colder drier week coming up

On the way home after a couple of days visiting family in Lancashire. Weather was dire, glad we weren’t planning anything outdoors! By contrast pleasant day to be driving home!

Photos of slow build up of snow showers from the north side of the Firth. Currently sunny and 3c Temperature has fallen since morning.  First phto from this morning  showing shower  near Wick and coming south over the Braes of Berriedale and the cliffs at DunbeathSecond photo almost current. This is probably the one that give us a dusting this evening

Snowline here varying considerably in short distances, between 200m and 350m. Here's the afternoon dog walk in the local woods illustrating where the heaviest ppn must have been overnight resulting in cover whilst round the corner at the same elevation there's nothing...

A small covering here from yesterday evening’s showers, with anything 400m+ seeing more. Few blustery snow showers earlier with what looks like heftier ones inbound from the north west over next few hrs. -0.2c and a few ice days ahead, much more preferable to the dank mess of the past week

Damp showers just here but we went up the hill behind (top at just below 200m) and got an afternoon treat of a pretty beefy snow shower.  Plenty more incoming but unless they really pick up, there'll be just an icy mess here in the morning. Decent few wintry days starting anyway and for once I'll be outside this week. Yay.

I probably shouldn't post this as it'll mess it up.... But the precip out west seems further north than expected?  A surprise snowfall/sleet fest possible further north than the warning area? (compared to UKV

It is indeed pretty unpleasant out there away from shelter, I was just out with the dogs and thought about heading up onto one of the Bennachie tops as it wasn't too bad in the woods. I got about 100m onto the open hill before retreating back below the treeline. More sunshine is nice though. 

No sign of snow on the surrounding hills here either so it must have stayed wet despite the splodges of heavy sleet on the Velux before i went to bed. 

Went for a walk this afternoon from the Bennachie visitor center with the wife and dog, but stayed lower down and it was very pleasant. A few light snow showers knocking around the area but nothing heavy or sustained enough to leave even a dusting. 

Around 2C when we were out but around 0C when we got back home after a stop off for a cup of coffee with friends in Kemnay . My car and the driveway already iced up at 17:30 when we got home.

Just had the teensiest fall of snaw, unfortunately it didnae last or lie. Not much gaunae happen here snaw wis over the next coupla days but I do look forward to seeing some epic SNAW pics! Currently 1.1c and cloudy with it.

Wild sleety night with wet snow last night. Brighter today with wet snow this morning but distinct drop in temperature this afternoon with slight covering of snow before heavier swirling snow this evening

I wasn't mad.. Glasgow has just been added to the warning. Now to see whether it's cold rain or snow....

It hasn't been added to the warning...the snow warning mentions Strathclyde the met office map shows snow affecting some of the islands of Strathclyde... unfortunately. Or have I got it wrong..

Sorry should've clarified its the ice warning, which mentions snow accumulations of 2-5cm possible above 100m with chance of snow to lower levels.

Separate ice warning for ice after showers which also includes mention of a few cms of snow that has been extended north.

The english have invaded. Try being in central London on Thames floodplain the snow event I had in December near 3" was the first in this month for 12 years, I had a dusting in 2017. With our friend John, you're more likely to get blood out of a rock than get anything positive from him. When he is quiet take it as good sign lol.

I enjoy reading this regional btw, best on netwx some personalities and like photography.

Not mad at all. The wee blob of ppn on UKV that looked like it might hit here around 10pm is further north too....heading right for that snow magnet @Mair Snaw

I had to pop out to the bins just then - a nice dusting on top of frozen slush. Yikes for tomorrow. Just on 1C now.

(The blue bin had more snow on than the green one - what's that about? )

Just thrown the dog out for a last pee before bed and it's snowing lightly with a dusting lying. Temp currently -0.8C, having dropped sub-zero about 7pm.

Currently I'm pinning my hopes on Wed. XC weather, so GFS, has consistently shown something around then, although varying run by run. Will likely be toned down or dissappear entirely as Wed approaches, especially now I've mention it here.
