WOW...stunning snow pictures everyone, we had the thinnest of thin snow cover this morning so very jealous seeing those photo's.

I was keeping a close eye on the flat roofs at work, the frost never lifted all day even with the sun on them...a proper cold winters day.

The run into work showed -4 deg/C this morning.

Currents conditions...

Air temp -1.4 deg/C

Ground temp -9.2 deg/C

Cloud temp...clear sky.

Some awesome spells of snow to be out and about in today. Probably around 10cm fell in Inverness in the afternoon with prolonged showers earlier this evening also. Lovely, light powdery stuff to be out in, very drifty.. tomo evening could get pretty tasty with gales accompanying the snowfall

More light snow showers, a decent wee shower at the moment that actually has a little bit more intensity. A decent wee covering now, unexpected snow here tbh. Not very often that happens in Ayr

Interesting drive south this evening. Took 3 hours from Lairg to Aviemore before the roads cleared. Out of Rheanbreck past Lairg was tricky but more snow than ice. Over the Struie was actually not too bad but once near to joining the A9 at the bottom through Inverness was dodgy, couple wagons stuck on the incline away from Dingwall /Muir of Ord roundabout. Several cars stuck on the slipway towards the hospital in Inverness. Several more wagons slipping to a halt heading up the hill from Inverness. Past Aviemore clear tarmac. Trip home tomo night looks even more difficult.

Very little more snow overnight but showers feeding in again this morning. Lamp post has gone hipster and sporting an ice beard

Cracking winters morning. Frosty with a low overnight of about -5c. Currently -3c. Yesterday's dusting hasn't really shifted much. A little irritating that the next ppn forecast to fall here is back to rain!

Morning all, currently -2.1c which is also the overnight low. High yesterday of +2.1c. Should be blue skies all the way here, most welcome after recent gloom!

Im suprised the Inverness folk haven't been on with plenty of pictures of the snaw because according to the radar its pelting it down in that area..

Currently -2c with fresh wind moderate snowfall and blowing snow along ground surface. Had just over an inch overnight.

Loving the photos and can’t wait for more to come. No snow here at the house but a wee bit up at Whitelee. -6.4 the low overnight. Some pics from a few days ago.

Minus 4 here... Looks like a cracking day.  NW Ireland doing well some nice pics from Londonderry....so snow in Ulster ..snow up north. V little in-between

Looks really quite nasty later today Amber warning for #Snow for northern Scotland this afternoon/evening as small low pressure moves down from Shetland. Conditions on the roads will deteriorate as it falls dark. Heavy snowfall with strong to gale force NW winds, blizzard conditions and ice. #A96 #A90 #A9

Nice pics.. unfortunately can't take my dogs up to whitlee..as one of the totally freaks out at the site of the wind farm

Been a couple of lovely sparkly winter days with plenty of sunshine.

Overnight low of -3.2c and currently -1.0c.

Just the merest dusting of snow on the ground from a shower on Sunday evening as evidenced below, surviving only in shaded areas as the sun yesterday was strong enough to melt it in exposed areas.

Do notice in the greenhouse now a increase in sun strength as inside there it got up to a very pleasant 14c yesterday.

Waiting game to see if anything comes of the precipitation this evening, the Met App implies it changing to rain as the evening/night progresses implying we're in that infamous marginal boundary at 100m height.

I just go up to the south side to the north of Darvel. You’re not really in the wind farm and only see them from a distance. There’s a cool waterfall too.

Woke up to a good covering of snow this morning in Newburgh (Aberdeenshire).  Not sure if the amber warning for the area will come to fruition for me tonight.......There is always hope

We got a bit more snow here overnight so probably a total since early yesterday of around 8cm. Good going for here! Main roads are clear, side roads are being left and gradually getting polished, will be 'interesting' by this evening.

Apparently im set for an afternoon of snaw so says my weather app thing on my mobile. I can only assume that its that large area of precipitation currently moving down from Inverness.. my app obviously has no idea that the mountains will soak it all up and i will get nothing.
