West coast then northern mainland Scotland looking lively tomorrow morning.

Becoming increasingly wet and windy tonight with concerns for western and northern Scotland on Wednesday morning from strong to gale force winds, high gusts, high tides and large waves.

Windy but pleasant enough with almost unbroken sunshine this morning until a recent shower came through when things turned wild for about 10 minutes - driving rain and squally winds that overturned the garden furniture.

Now back to sunshine and blue skies just as quickly.

Two old codgers after breakfast:

'Bit windy out...'

'Oh I thought it was Thursday!'

'Well let's have a cup of tea then...'

Back to winter out there.

Thermometer may read 8c but feeling baltic in that very strong and gusty SW wind.

Some decent sunny spells first thing but frequent light showers now - nuisance value as they barely wet the ground.

Potentially good for rainbows though...

Someone in our village recorded an 86mph gust earlier today. Don't know how the power managed to stay on! Calming down now, thankfully!

Breezy here too but nothing exceptional. The Tay looking a bit grey. Showers about to the West but none made it here except for a spot or two in the wind.
Meanwhile up in Stornoway some coastal and town flooding with Spring tides and high winds.

Very windy this morning and early afternoon here a real equinoctial gale without the dust storms .Lost power a few times for about ten minutes each time. Some very squally showers keeping ground very wet. Currently 7c, clearer and calmer

The showers we had in the middle of the day were of big blobby rain - definitely a sign of spring which is quite a relief.

Tomato seeds will be sown tomorrow.

Really liking the look on Friday good enough CAPE sparking off hefty showers and cold air starts to undercut from the North and Northeast with precip turning to sleet + snow going into Saturday 💥

Seems to be a very definiate weather pattern down here near Jedburgh. Mornings often start off rainy but always always change to bright sun around 7am. When the met office forecast gives rain, we stay dry. I think we live in a huge saucer shaped bit and often the rain veers rouind the edge. Am quite liking this - getting soft in my old age 😎

Sundays snow for here has disappeared on the 0Z GFS but as always anything remotely interesting is just kicked down the road 😂🤣

Lovely day actually (after a terribly wet and windy last 36), 12.1c and largely sunny. In any shelter that sun feels warm! 😎

And so the season feel of things swings back to spring.

Much lighter winds today, and combined with some good spells of sunshine (especially morning) not feeling bad at all.

Max of 12c and some light showers of rain this evening - nice sunset though.

Timing of these lousy as ever as they are masking what is quite a nice aurora - camera as ever picking up a better show than the naked eye...

Scottish weather really can be a tad frustrating, now totally clouded over.  Oh well, time to watch the action up in Shetland instead - https://www.shetlandwebcams.com/cliff-cam-3/

We've just had a heavy hail shower here. That's something that has not really been evident during recent winters. Anyway, April showers have at least begun early with bright blue sky now ahead of the next batch of rain 😎

Went for a stroll up Dunsinane and Kings Seat in the Sidlaws this afternoon. Bright with a warm breeze. Showers staying well off to the West. Shocking lack of snow looking up towards the Angus and Perthshire hills for mid March.
Route guide said to follow the path through the gorse but did not say that you had to force your way through. Came back another route to avoid on the way back but ended up in a bog.
