Low of -7.1 today with a 1c max and -5.9c currently. Nice crisp and clear day to start December, lovely at sun down.

Quite the sneaky sod this small low, looking at a bit of northwards momentum into the wee hours and a bit of push toward a central streamer of sorts giving scope for showers from the Clyde regions across into Fife Stirling Edinburgh etc

Strange to see showers developing inland like that at this time of year with virtually no solar heating and then staying in situ. Not sure how they came about with virtually no solar heating. Roads around Kenmore pretty bad for a time. Even down the valley in Aberfeldy there was a good covering. Here in West Dundee -3.9C now and just missed an ice day despite the sunshine.

Perfect evening to see the aurora, was there faintly at 18:45 or so, but gone for the moment.  Forecast good later this evening allegedly.

Coldest night so far, currently -6.2c with no wind or cloud - zero snow cover.

Lovely moonrise though phone camera hopeless at showing it.

still absolutely hee haw in Perth, have - 2 and freezing fog though and football off tomorrow so can relax and put up Xmas Decorations tomorrow would really like just a wee cm for decorative purposes but looks like anything going to be south of here....

Car was showing -11.5°C at 7pm coming back from doggy day care earlier. Garden sensor currently -7.6°C.

-5C here now with clear skies. No sign of the aurora at present but heading for our coldest night of the season.

Keep running out when the polarity goes negative to see whisps of aurora here @Norrancebut nothing worth writing home about just yet.

Temps on the Black Isle range from a coastal -2C (eg here) down to probably around -5C typically inland (eg Munlochy).  So a chilly evening but nothing spectacular. Forecast to be colder tomorrow night I think, then it's back to more like 'seasonal averages' as they say.

My goodness it's trying to give a show but so far not as good as the forecasts are saying...

 

Much better to watch the show in the warmth at this site in Shetland - now -7c outside and your hands really feel that after a few minutes.
