Snowing again now but looking at radar a much smaller shower.

More snow by the Forth than at my house. Warming up now.

Stop moaning about lack of MetO warnings, they just ruin the nice surprises.

So far we've hit  a high of - 2.9C here, despite wall to wall sunshine.

Well that was unexpected. Got home from company Xmas party at 2am and it was clear and freezing.

Minus 7.8 this morning here and lying snow still lying and turning to concrete. Never been above freezing for 3 days.

still no snow in the snow desert.... no feeling left in my fingers after putting up the Xmas lights... at least it's beautifully crisp and the heavy frost gives the illusion of snow

The perfect day for hillwalking, or so I thought. The north side of the hills are frozen solid, very icy in places while other sections are like jagged concrete. A rather painful ascent. A few pics from on the way up and a video showing the higher hills to the west and the north. You might need to zoom in on the video a bit.

Right..decided there was enough snow on Warklaw Hill to drag the kids up with the sledge

No new snow at Shuggee Towers. Steel grey sky and a thaw with a positively Mediterranean 0.6°C for a couple of hours. Of out with the dog shortly to inspect the Tweed...

Warmest it's been so far here is - 1.6C, and with the sun dropping and the temperature back down to - 3.0C I think we can safely call it an ice day. Certainly felt rather chilly when out walking the dog a little while ago, even with it calm and being in the sun some of the time.

Scotland Snow Cup is off to a flyer as @Hawesy took a brief lead with a cover of graupel but KW responds with a curling effort into the left bottom corner , we need regional rivalries here got to put @Penicuikblizzard v @101_North for the Edinburgh regions

The snowfall was quite localised around here this morning. Heading for an ice day with a max of -1.4C earlier and now -2.9C. My daughter and her partner are up in Kenmore and about to go into the hot tub. Brrrr

 

She sent a video. Her boyfriend went down the slide and into the loch. Must be crazy!

@Kirkcaldy Weather in a blatant show of oneupmanship I headed to Ben Lawers to trump your photos.  Things looked different above 800m

@Norrance Interesting drive up. Nothing much east of Aberfeldy but Kenmore was a winter wonderland. As you headed west the snow tapered so virtually nothing in Killin. And on the south side of the loch the hills were pretty bare. Glad to see Dundee got some snow!
