Last shower was rain with just a bit of sleet when heavier. Temp up to 2.2C and a definite thaw of lying snow underway😟

Down to -3.5C now. Looks like we might make the ice day again. And we seem to be under some relic blob of colder upper air too which dwindling and drifting away...

Eyes switch towards around Dec 4th

Snow flurry this afternoon. Messy sums up this system with dewpoints increasing plus dam value = mix of sleet and even freezing rain.

Low trying to come in on the 6th is a classic \ alignment of a front but as upper temps are at between -4 &-2 and again the 528 dam shifting further out the scene it screams predominantly highest level snowy conditions of which significant falls are plausible even into the pennine route, chance of it starting as a wintry mix at low levels on the leading edge but I expect the transition to rain will be pretty swift

Well if the local weather station is to be believed, not quite an ice day as the temp got above freezing around 6pm and has been hovvering around 1C pretty much since then. Stuck my head out the back door and I'd say its currently raining lightly, but the thin covering of snow on the driveway and cars out front seems intact. Possibly as they are still very cold? Could be an interesting commute in the morning if it stays like this.

Forecasts suggesting it still stays relatively cold here, if not as cold as the last few days, until late Wed. Then gets a bit milder, but still below average for Dec?

Made it - -1.5C just now. Phew, I've achieved something this weekend 🙃

Ms HC was out for a walk today and came back with photos of heavily frosted heather, trees, etc. Privacy embargo.

Rain overnight has left the drive and road like an ice rinks. 4wd plus winter tyres and the car is sliding. Not going to attempt getting to work until daylight. Currently 3c and moderate rain.

Several Met Office weather warnings are in place for large parts of the UK.

2C here and very similar to the above, just thrown grit across a very icy driveway. Might catch out some of the "must get to work", couldn't get out of bed 5mins earlier, idiots on the A944

Cold, icey underfoot where snow has been cleared and it was foggy until just a short while ago. Not much snow has melted but I'm guessing that's about to change as the sleety mess makes its way in.
