Thoroughly enjoyed our unexpected snow yesterday, though it turned our already quite feisty dog into an absolute nut. No idea why, he's seen snow before. He acted like a demented toddler on the walk out of our estate and caused our teenage daughter to walk at least 20 yards behind us as it was "just too embarrassing" . This was useful when we realised one of the cats was trying to join us on our walk as we deployed the daughter to chase the cat back home so it didn't get lost. The dog calmed down a bit when we got to the woods.

Light wintry showers are turning the frozen hard surfaces into skating rinks. Yellow warnings for ice and snow today and tomorrow. Giving serious consideration to starting the festive break now.

Looks like the wind is starting to change. Bringing more showers inland from the east.

It would be good if that big low just off the sw made traction and arrived before tomorrow afternoon. If it arrives quicker tonight there could be some large amounts of snow.

A low of -12c to start yesterday and -13.5c this morning making it a cold weekend for sure! Been beautiful out though

Few of us booked up for the euros next year    after traveling away to watch some honking Scotland teams over the years it feels so much better these days, slightly less masochistic anyway

Nice one. The models haven’t been to great so wouldn’t  surprise me this low could come earlier. It looks to be showing up already down the sw. the models have had showing it arriving there around 3pm

Back home after my adventures yesterday. Just some frozen remnants of graupel here in Pittenweem so drove over to Hill of Tarvit. Central Fife from Glenrothes through Muchty and up to Cupar looking great after yesterdays fall.

Here on the coast temperature is higher than last couple of days at 2.2c. Light flurries at the moment but rising dew points will turn them to rain later. Still the last few days have delivered much more than I expected to NE Fife. Nice start to winter. The lack of strong onshore winds really helped!

just arrived in Dundee, surprised at the amount of snow. Warning is very tame, occasional showers turning to rain that probably won't reach Perth. All eyes on later in the month and the tease of a wintry Xmas.... certainly a notable early cold spell this has been.

Isn't the snow supposed to turn to rain tomorrow?

And I take it the milder air will win out on Thursday with the incoming low ? 

The low will push the cold air out of the way won't it?

Think unless your on higher ground will be rain. Currently 2.5C here.

We don't get much snow here in Hampshire so I visit this forum for the beautiful pictures and views.Love football see you might play at the Munich stadium I was there on tour with our club.Saw Forest beat Malmo 1 0.Our 24 tickets were provided by the late great Brian Clough.He did a motivation seminar at one of the players companies and sorted things.Good luck with your national side.

North Sea looks loaded up, plenty showers moving east to west into tayside and fife.
