Snow shield still almost fully intact here. Must have caught a flurry at some point but when you can identify individual frozen flakes you know it didn't last long 🤣😂

I think we’ve had a bit of a raw deal out of this cold spell. 🙈

Impressively low temperatures for the time of year, suspect somewhere in Scotland might breach -15c tonight.

Work was cancelled today, apparently the toilets have frozen solid. What a pity 😆

Grabbed a photo of the car display as you drop down into the Vale of Alford.

The -15c has happened sooner than I thought:

Irvine had 10cm of snow.... thats when you ******* know..... winter 23/24 get yourself to 😗

lovely to see all the photos of fantastic snow as  I get ready to spend a day of cleaning the house and putting up the Christmas decorations... has really lifted the mood to have such joy for others....

my only consolation is 101 has nothing.... that satisfies my schadenfreude needs 😈

If someone could also post all these pictures in the model thread that would be great 😁

enjoy the snow all who got it.... Great start to winter 👌

🤣😂

Yeah. Cracking cold and frost but snow wise it's been poor. I really thought we'd a chance last night looking at the charts! Ah well. Will get out and enjoy the cold and look forward to the next disappointment 🤣

The post directly above is keeping me grounded. Irvine AND @edo getting snow would have been hard to take 😂🤣

Super hard frost here this morning that's getting reinforced with a smattering of the white stuff. Was surprised to see the snow come on last 10 minutes. Definitely didn't show up in any forecast for me.

Yes snowing here now and not struggling to lie at -3.5C. My ws got down to -7C before the mist came in so coldest since last December for me. Pic shows the frost before snow started. Sis-in-law says a couple of inches in Bearsden.

Seems the Met Office have really been caught with their pants down regarding this event.  According to radar snow is streaming into St Andrews/Dundee reigion right now and not one warning on their website.

This is astounding that they get it so badly wrong so often especially underestimating events regarding Scotland, im sure they’d be more clued up if it was southern England

The snow that hit parts of Highland Perthshire yesterday was not forecasted nor what is falling here this morning. Also the snow in the South West was much deeper and more widespread than forecast. They have not done well!

edit. Quite heavy here now.

That old saying get the cold in first and  the snow will follow ❄️

Maxed out at 4/5cm from just over 1 hours worth of  snowfall, incredible considering nothing was forecasted until an hour before it arrived and we are 60/70 miles away from nearest warning area 😂
