Crazy that's only 5 miles up from here and it was all rain when it passed. Boundary must be edging south.

See that all the time here in Sheffield the varying weather all over the city is madness.

If you didn't live in Sheffield you could easily get caught out  the difference in 1 or 2 mile can be very big.

Some snow photos from this morning and although it rained this afternoon with a thaw underway, a fair bit of snow has survived.  Hoping for more later and not far from the amber warning!! 🤞

Agreed…when taking a moment in looking at the radar you can clearly see how the low at present is moving on track and how the back edged over Ireland is flowing downwards 🤓

That’ll be us in five hours with s#it loads falling ❄️❄️❄️😁

Hi all, is anyone in the Staffordshire Moorlands high up?

Is it bad there? I'm down south since Monday, but live 270m ASL up there (on a 380m ridge, back roads, no main road). I'm assuming I'm better off staying here and not trying to get back?

Thanks

A53 impassable and probably closed, looks like a huge amount of snow has drifted onto the road looking from the winking man webcam. Still snowing and drifting there too and a lot more to come later. Earlier today there was an accident up there too, just down the road from the webcam. Dangerous stuff.

The spot where it is pivoting around Carlisle must be getting absolute mountains of snowfall it has just been constant there for hours.

It literally snowed for 10 minutes heavy here and after all the super heavy rain all night there is a covering back on car roofs and a bit on the road.

It has been solid heavy realoding precipitation over the northwest like all afternoon evening they must be absolutely buried.

Not at work tonight so need to sleep, had one last look & it's a bit of a blizzard .

We will all see in the morning a good cover with luck.

Blizzards continue here, please don't travel. Many cars are stuck and stranded in extreme conditions.

Can't say I am surprised I have just been up the hill here at 200m  at the top and it was easily 25cm+ deep and drifting with blizzard conditions in Dronfield Derbyshire.

I bet my wife is on her way back from a concert in Birmingham I am glad that It was was mostly rain from here southwards otherwise it would have been a nightmare for them luckily they are in a defender so not too worried.

Good advice reports of big queue of traffic stuck on the A623  and all roads out of Buxton now closed so it is effectively cut off.

Drifting snow is the main danger and what could prove deadly so many people stuck out there wouldn't be surprised if it makes the news with the amount of people being silly and getting stuck.

The wind chill and air filled with snow where you have a job to breath is enough..
