Congrats to those under the storms, I'm jealous. Unfortunately it's looking like a miss for my dry, dusty garden. The area of intense rainfall that's all moving north seems to have located further west than most models were suggesting yesterday.

For my posts yesterday I wrongly dismissed NMM for showing the more west located outcome and went with Arome which has been preforming well recently, but it's starting to look like NMM will be correct. For comparison, here's what the 2 models were forecasting yesterday for cumulative rainfall to midnight tonight:

2 mins worth of rain so far, definitely further west than forecast. Not to bothered on missing out on the thunder, but I do hope that heavy rain moves eastwards.

Had thunderstorm after 3am, mainly to SE'ly. Some fairly heavy rain later in storm and after.

I would have sent this post earlier but my router was upset by the storm.

Quite a bit of thunder here between 5 and 6am. Lightning more so. Plenty of rain since 3am.  20mm so far. Love it. Bye bye summer 2022. You won't be missed.

In our caravan in Clacton and was looking forward to a good storm. Alas, it's all passed to the west of us and we've had zilch!

This has got to have been the worst Summer on record so far. 😔

A wild night for sure.

First use able rainfall we've had in months.

Its still raining, thought this would have cleared the region a few hours ago!

No complaints though, the rain is needed!

Had quite a lot of lightning and thunder last night, had a close bolt that woke a majority of my sun loving neighbours up which made my morning about 3:30am.

Welcome to my weather suckers (was the nasty quote going through my head!)

All still moaning as i type... Because its still tipping it down!👹

So quite... no kids screaming, just the sound of the rain and dripping gutters.

Couldn't make it up, not only did the storm miss us, the rain has so far also missed us, and it may even die off before the front makes it over to east Kent.

I agree with you, Alexis, this monumental failure by forecasters really takes the biscuit! For hardly the first time this summer, Stormageddon has been forecast and bugger-all has happened! Oh, God, it's only a few months away from ridiculous snow-forecasts!

We ended up with just under an hour of very light rain in the end. Grand total 0.75mm which means that since the last proper rain event at the start of June we have had less than 5mm.
