Yes we had about 15 cm in the space of an hour. I've never seen snow so heavy for so long. Normally heavy snow comes from a streamer rather than a mini low.

Certainly no bust, exceeded expectations!

I'll add (hoping not to annoy those who've been on the wrong side of marginal) warmer air is leaking in under the low, so I'm hoping we don't get too much melting overnight.

But a proper event for here ❄

Happy For you absolute bust here

What a utter frustration 😡

Rained all evening, turned to snow briefly and gave a slushy covering and now it’s gone back to rain. I don’t get it!

I live by the estuary but places like Canvey further south have had massive flakes and a very decent covering!

Just taken us over 4 hours to drive from Bodle street to Mayfield (usually takes 25 mins) Absolute chaos on the roads, cars abandoned all over the place! Finally had to abandon ours about a mile from home and walked the rest (in suede boots yuk!)

Yeah, it’s not great out there. Just had to drive down to Polegate to pick up my daughter from the train station, as there are no buses and even the A22’s not great, down to one lane in places with a couple of cars and a motorbike abandoned. The side roads, forget it.

What constitutes an Amber or a red warning from the Met office?

Hundreds of Rtc collisions ongoing across the region, some serious.

Roads blocked, cars abandoned.

Reports of falling trees on the A21 in East Sussex due to weight of snow..

Snow eased off for a while here, but has picked up in the last couple of minutes. Temperature has now fallen to -0.5°. Heavier returns moving in from the East according to the radar.
