Well temps at 7c here now and rain. Very unfortunate we could not get the full effect of the ssw on this event. I guess being the uk, we just don't have the land mass like the states and Europe so we are open to many mobile patterns and not forgetting that all famous jet stream, our main driver. We are definitely overdue a sustained winter event maybe winter 23/24 will be the one.

We live in hope!

Yep  a bit of luck some may see some snow again as it wraps around in the morning  NMM 12z  highlights this perfectly

According to the Met Office app forecast for my town, it's going to be 6C colder at midday tomorrow than at 2am tonight. Must be a change of airmass tomorrow morning. Cold air is returning, but probably not in time / too late in the morning to bring snow here as the low and its rain clears, maybe north of London though.

The precipitation is starting to turn back to snow here now.

Edit and it is now starting to settle on the grass.

Well there you go. We had a great December snow dance. Lasted a week and then a Jan and Feb borefest rolled into an ssw which gave us a slushy covering on Wednesday. Then you look at the north in disbelief. Couldnt be anymore unlucky

You could - I’ve had no snow at all this winter, not even a brief dusting!

Watching the temps drop away to the north and west of me, even if I could get an hour of snow falling now I’d take it! 9c with 7mm of rain since midnight

Sleet has already turned to settling snow here (despite what the radar says) was only expecting a slush fest this morning but looks like I’m getting a couple of hours back edge snow from this ⛄️

As Captain S., Dami and S-MK state above, you can see that transition from Rain > Snow now taking place to the N. of London, as can be seen on the Meteociel charts, above.

.Just a little N. of here [London City Airport], the current temp. is around 5c with a Dew Point of 4c.

The Rain has just turned a bit6 heavier and I'm keeping my eyes peeled and expecting a bit of wintriness, before it clears away later.

Regards,

Tom Q. 👍 ❄️

Just half an hour to go from a sleety mix to full blown whiteout conditions with snow settling everywhere. I am glad I got to work when I did because the overnight rain would have washed away any grit there was on the roads.

Rain attempting to transition to sleet here on the NE Hants/Surrey/Berkshire border. Not expecting much at all here mind you.

Good luck to those of you further north, some of you might at least get a covering of snow.
