A decent spell of rain for us on the coast this afternoon. Dry now, but 10mm the total for today. After recent weeks, we'll take that.

10mm your lucky there...gfs says by 144hrs we will get our old East North easterly back ...let's hope Tuesdays rain  pulls a better punch because it looks dry after that ..AGAIN 😞

Amazing to think in this country many folks are missing rain.

just shows how notable the dry spell has been.

I think as a nation we are conditioned to frequent changes in the weather and struggle to comprehend a weather type that sticks around for many weeks.

Non-edited image of the view I had of the shelf cloud earlier on the passing front edge I'm assuming of the north France MCS outflow.

Here's the Netweather Extra hi-res radar calculations for yesterday's (Sunday's) rainfall and it confirms that many in the Region, including most of East Anglia, received very little rainfall from yesterday's 'no-show' rain event.

And this morning's GFS rainfall forecasts suggesting the eastern counties of the Region stay dry for the next week:

I managed an unexpected 13mm overnight, the garden is properly grateful!

Had to laugh at the latest storm forecast, I swear Norfolk in particular is left out deliberately 🙄

Yep, look so promising and now the east of Norfolk Suffolk and Essex unlikely now to see anything significant…Tonight was our only hope.

it did perk up a little at 10pm...I recorded 3.5mm not great but the most we have seen here since early May.

Latest forecasts don’t look so promising now for a spell of heavy rain here in the early hours of tomorrow, all looks to have shifted quite a bit west. Just can’t catch a break, as after that it’s looking pretty much dry again for the foreseeable

Indeed, the models have tended to push heavy rain through the Midlands leaving this part of the country mostly dry. It appears we may need to hope for thundery showers to develop underneath the warm and humid air ahead of that waving cold front. Looks like tomorrow will also see temperatures reach the mid-twenties again, especially if we get some good spells of sunshine.
